To the dismay of all but hard-core political junkies, the endless campaign is a reality of modern politics. With some midterm races still unresolved, voters attention is already turned to 2012. And no potential presidential candidate now garners more attention than former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Love her or hate her, admire her or fear her, respect her or ridicule her, it seems no one in the chattering class is without an opinion on Palin. Virtually every part of her life is dissected sometimes by her own choice. Each word is scrutinized, and each misstep no matter how small is treated as breaking news.Palin has made clear that she is thinking about running for president. Everyone, from pundits to former first ladies, has weighed in on what she should do. Many urge her not to run.
But if she decides to, Republicans of all stripes should applaud her decision. This isnt an endorsement of her candidacy. It is, however, an endorsement of her right to participate in the process.
If we want a GOP nominee prepared for the rough-and-tumble of the general election, then we need a rigorous primary. To ensure we nominate the best our party has to offer, we need as many of our leaders as are willing to throw their hats in the ring. If we want to guarantee that our standard-bearer reflects Republican values and priorities, then we need a diverse field to choose from.

Yes, I know Chicago isn’t a state. I meant Illinois and Ohio.
BTTT!
Thanks, onyx. I appreciate it. I need to get “back in the swing” of things... Being offline for a couple months really has me struggling to catch up! LOL
I hear you on that! Not sure what Sarah Palin is going to do, but she staying very busy and still commanding the headlines!
Oh no! Don't let Jimah Carter read this.....he may get get an itch!!!
Re #39:
Sorry but believing that Palin should “stay in her own atate” is not the same as saying “Palin does not have the right to run”. One is an opinion. One is a denial of Constitutional right. There’s a big difference.
More likely Bloomberg or possibly Mittens, Donald Trump, or some other more (barf) qualified traitor will make a third party run, which would assure a democrat victory, which is the real plan anyway.
No one (not supporters or detractors) has said or even intimated that she does not have a constitutional right to run.
Right on! Run Baby Run!
rw — Missouri is ALWAYS overlooked. Its like our 11 EV’s don’t mean squat.
It has been implied by many that she does not.
I love her and want her to run and win. And if she runs, wins the nomination and loses, I will still love her and be glad she ran.
“Grover Norquist. Interesting. It seems Mitty has instructed his minions to appear nice and inviting to Sarah. He has some devious strategy with this.”
If Palin ties herself in any way to Norquist, you can only expect more of the same and it will prove once and for all that she is for amnesty. Until republicans learn what a traitor Norquist is NOTHING changes! I don’t know what kind of power he has over these candidates, but the criminal Norquist needs to be gone!

“Palin should say Thanks, but no thanks to this pro-islam activist.”
Absolutely! His lifelong push for amnesty isn’t so much about ‘poor Mexicans’ as it is Islamic aliens. C’mon Sarah, serve America, not K street!

Palin may not want to tie herself to Grover but he definitely wants to tie himself to her!
AuntB, I think you’re a little late to this thread. Sarah is wise to Mitty operatives Norquist and K Street. Sarah did not ask for this affirmation of her “right” by Norquist and she knows his background doesn’t serve America.
“He is part of the CPAC movement that is trying to destroy the conservative movement.”
You are right and any one who doesn’t know it shouldn’t be voting. Norquist should be in jail!

My favorite Grover quote:
Grover Norquist: Field Marshal of the Bush Plan
I started out as a right-winger, and when I retire I want to be a squishy middle-of-the-roader, he jokes, chortling at the thought.
