Sarah Palin never claimed she could see Russia from her house that was Tina Fey but she went one better on Glenn Beck's radio show in discussing the tensions in the Korean Peninsula and saying: "We've got to stand with our North Korean allies".
A transcript of the radio show reads:
Interviewer: How would you handle a situation like the one that just developed in North Korea?
Palin: Well, North Korea, this is stemming from a greater problem, when we're all sitting around asking, 'Oh no, what are we going to do,' and we're not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is going to do. So this speaks to a bigger picture that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy. But obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies we're bound to by treaty....
Interviewer: South Korean.
Palin: Yes, and we're also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes.

But our ally now is really North Korea.
Look, South Korea didn’t sign that treaty with Obama, right?
So, our ally North Korea bombed South Korea, our enemy.
Palin’s gaffe is also “right”, in so many respect these days.
Gosh!
What now? Obama now can’t have “slip of tounge”? Oh yeah. He has two TOTUSES in front of him. One in the left, the other in right. Sigh!
“Then were EXACTLY on the same page. If not DeMint, or someone like Inhofe...then DEFINITELY Sarah.”
What if DeMint and Sarah ran together? SP/DeMint - that would be a really good ticket and rally/inspire the entire Tea Party movement. I honestly think Sarah Palin won’t run if she thinks she’s a distraction - just like she recently said. That ticket may have some issues with some independents, except the indies I care about are the Conservatives that have left the pubbie structure because its become so RINO infested that it’s almost become worthless (except as a holding shell for one of the major political party powers). Now the Tea Parties threaten the existing power structure of the GOP and they’re fighting like cornered RATS (pun intended.) The TPs so far have decided to reform and/or take over the GOP.
I am NOT a 3rd party advocate if you’ve read my posts over the years and there are big reasons why. Here’s my reasoning in a nutshell and it comes from study of the topic: In the history of the United States, not a single third party has come close to winning the presidency, only 7 3rd parties have even won a single states electoral votes and only 5 third parties have won even 10% of the vote.
SO, THE MEDIA IS ADMITTING NOW THAT “OBAMA IS REALLY A MUSLIM” AFTER THAT SLIP OF TOUNGE WITH GEORGE S?
Okey!
OBAMA IS REALLY A MUSLIM!
“I would just conclude - lets recall who our true enemies are, and more importantly, who our true friends are.”
Amen - and this little incident is early enough to not matter for 2012. I’m much more interested in how she really comes down on some key issues, as far choosing between her and DeMint. If DeMint (or equivalent) doesn’t run, it’s Sarah, hands down.
“What if DeMint and Sarah ran together? SP/DeMint - that would be a really good ticket and rally/inspire the entire Tea Party movement.”
That would certainly get the base out, and Obama’s taking care of giving us the Independents - so I’m sold.
Agree, no to 3rd party - I’d rather not vote. If it is Romney or Pawlenty, I’d likely vote for them (unless they got real squishy). Daniels or Huck, I sit it out - I have my limits.
Clearly, this isn’t a slip of the tongue as her recovery consists of saying “and yes, we need to stand with our South Korean allies too...”
If it were, she could have merely said, “Yes, that’s correct, South Korean, pardon the slip of the tongue.”
I like Sarah Palin’s ideology, but she’s not much more intelligent than Bush Jr.
FAKES, democrats , one and all
The whole world is a stage and we are all just actors in it.
Think not? Well Glen Beck set Sarah Up. Glen Beck asks Palin what “we” should do about this North Korea incident. That is an extremely hard question to answer for anyone, even a sitting President.Palin hasn't even announced yet. Glen Beck is a fake too as are these who slander Palin for a slip of the Tongue or other liberal media smears. If Beck was on our side he would have lofted soft ball questions at Palin , so Palin could tear up Obama and make her look Presidential , instead Beck asks what we should do against North Korea , knowing how busy Palin is and that she has not been briefed on it or thought about it much.

There have been entirely too many threads such as this one in recent months, and the fact that after posting there was no response from its author made me quite suspicious. Of course family comes first, and apparently your agenda was not to bash Palin; this was my principal concern.
I said it in a different posting on this thread, and I'll say it again in a slightly different way, because it bears repeating: What the Left and its fellow travelers have done to Governor Plain is an outrage. It's fine for FReepers to have prospective candidates they prefer to her (I personally do), it's fine for them to outright oppose her. But what is not fine is for FReepers to support the kind of crap that's dumped on her constantly in an effort to discredit her, justified by the lame excuse that "she's got to be more careful of what she says." That idiocy just will not wash: Palin is a salt-of-the-earth American with real accomplishments -- something our boy President does not have. Many of the "missteps" attributed to her are statements taken out of context, spin, exaggerations, and many are malicious lies. "Conservatives" who enable the campaign against her in furtherance of their own candidates are accomplices in the attempted destruction of a fine and decent person, and they ought to be ashamed. More practically, they should at least understand that if the Left succeeds in discrediting Palin they'll simply turn their long knives on the next victim.
So, again, I'm sorry to have misunderstood your purpose and impugned your motives. To me, this most recent "controversy" is both a non-story and an indicator of how desperate Palin's enemies are. I'm glad to be told you're not one of them.
Happy Thanksgiving.
I was not referring to the recent gaffe. I was referring to the informstion thst she needed to be coached about the existence of north and south korea before the election - I was questioning how you get to be an adult without knowing something I knew in grade school.
Yep...she gets no 47 states pass
Yep...she gets no 47 states pass
I can see why Palin is popular - primarily because she stands by here beliefs. However, she would be a lousy president. She is perfect where she is - on television.
My point was that it is not a disaster that we will NEVER be able to support a conservative candidate who is not subject to committing human error. It is a given that the media will attack those who both threaten their socialist agenda and who make errors.
It's not a disaster. It's not reasonable to expect Romney, Huckabee, or Demint to do any better, nor do I believe that they would do any better.
You can count on the media to use their propaganda to select the Republican candidate that they WANT to run against. I think they realize that they DON'T want to run against Palin.
Their biases were obvious during the Republican primaries leading up to the 2008 election. The media drooled over the war-hero, "maverick" McCain. That is who they wanted selected and he was selected. As soon as he was selected, the liberal media could see no value in having the war-hero, "maverick" in the White House. I, for one, would never have selected McCain because I know of no single principle to which he is dedicated, including any support for those pesky Amendments in the Bill of Rights.
But let SP slip....and it's apologists to the rescue!!
Funny how that works, ain't it!!!?????

OK, but here’s your source of the original accusation against Sarah Palin: “The book, Game Change, by the political journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, is based on interviews with more than 200 people with inside knowledge of the campaign, including Mr. Obama at the White House in late June. But all sources were granted anonymity, and in most cases the authors provide no specific documentation for their account.”
I see you trust carte blanche these anonymous sources from political journalists, quoted in a New York Slimes blog.
No problem with those sources, hmmmmm??! When did you learn about checking your sources? What if they’re lying about Sarah Palin? Have you thought about that? When did you learn that people lied in this world, perhaps around first grade?
I know, let’s believe the POS socialist media and blast on Sarah Palin on Free Republic as being an imbecile.
“But let SP slip....and it’s apologists to the rescue!!
Funny how that works, ain’t it!!!?????”
Yeah, the playing field has been so fair for Sarah Palin and her family too...funny how that works.

Recall how George Allen was crushed by the socialist pressers after one gaffe in 2006? I think it’s about time we crush these pressers back and start defending our own and quit worrying about what the socialists/lefties think about us.
“I can see why Palin is popular - primarily because she stands by here beliefs.”
You just committed a gaffe in the above sentence in your critique of Palin. LOL! I say we ban you from FR for the good of Conservatism...;)
When you say that Palin was not up to the Governor’s job in AK, can you please cite some examples, rather than making these sorts of generalizations? How in the world could she have had a 70% approval rating in AK, if what you are saying is true?

I agree! Very well said, and it bears repeating.
