Palin's doing a nice job tonight in her Hannity appearance tonight

Posted on 11/22/2010 7:17:11 PM PST by cycle of discernment

Very much in command of the facts, quick, firm and clear.

A bit less folksy, yakkity blather and more to the point with a more 'serious' demeanor. Which is good.

If I could give one word of advice to this talented and quick-minded woman, I would tell her to rachet down the bubbly quotient slightly.

She needs to be perceived as serious.... blending with her natural accessibility and warm personality.

She needs to occasionally set her jaw in conviction without breaking into the girly smile and deliver her obviously deeply held positions with authority.

She's got the content down 110%, if she'd just add more seriousness to her delivery...the trick is, such seriousness can't be contrived and should not replace her natural ebullience, wholesale--she needs to retain her authenticity--but a serious tone should be an additive feature, unflappable and strategically deployed.

I dare say Palin wasn’t your cup of tea well before this series:

And for the record, I have stated repeatedly that I do not think Sarah Palin is ready to be president. Once she gets out of her safe zone and talks broad based issues to people who may not agree with her, then I will start looking at her.

She is talented and invigorating.

Sarah Palin is a great asset to our side. But that does not mean that I am in favor of making her quarterback in 2012.

Did she make the best pick in this race? I don’t know.

Would she have made the pick if Handel was a man? .... probably not.

"It seems mostly that "presidential material" gets redefined to suit the lib candidate by the MSM before every election."

Indeed, we've seen it before; long before the PDS-driven attacks on "credibility" & "presidential material" there was Reagan Derangement Syndrome which drove the exact same attack line - if not worse ("Bonzo"). The more things change....

No. I don’t want her to be a phoney politician. At this point I don’t want her to be a politician at all- at least not the presidential nomine kind.

She was the only reason I voted for John McCain in 2008.

And she might be the only reason I would consider voting 3rd party in 2012.

She’s probably going to be the nominee, so deal with it.

And Obama was the democrat the Republicans wanted to run against. They didn't want to face Hillary.

If Sarah Palin runs and gets the nomination, she will win. Unless guys like you decide you'd rather vote for Alan Keyes.

You sound like you are unsure if she can win the nomination. But very confident she can win the general election.

Reality says it works the other way around. (Think Sharon Angle, Christine O'Donnell, Joe Miller, etc)

No, I am unsure that she is going to run. If she runs, she will win the nomination. Of that I am confident.

Palin has won elections before. The only reason Obama didn't take all 57 states is because McCain had Palin on his ticket.

I am pretty sure that America is not ready for a reality-show/tabloid president.

And my hope is that certain portions of the conservative movement don’t get one nominated in the Republican party.

You voted for the GOP because she was on the ticket, but you'll vote against the GOP if she is the GOP nominee?
