AUSTIN – A state representative on Tuesday filed a bill that would require any candidate for president and vice president of the United States to show his or her birth certificate to the Texas Secretary of State, another indication of just how ambitious the conservative agenda for next year’s session of the Texas Legislature is going to be.
“This bill is necessary because we have a president whom the American people don’t know whether he was born in Kenya or some other place,” Rep. Leo Berman said in reference to President Barack Obama and of his House Bill 295. “If you are running for president or vice president, you’ve got to show here in Texas that you were born in the United States and the birth certificate is your proof.”
Berman, R-Tyler, who in previous sessions introduced legislation aimed at stopping illegal immigration in Texas only to see it killed in committees, also filed bills that would make English the official language in the Lone Star State and other legislation that would crack down on illegal immigrants.

I have been calling on my State Rep to file exactly this bill for over a year, now.
This had better pass, or those that oppose it will be getting replaced.
And, I am a Texan.
So it starts...There should be many of these bills from many states after the butt kicking Duh Dems received in State houses.
There is a small number of states that are critical to Obama reaching 270 electoral votes. If a similar bill passes in just one of them then he will not run in 2012.
Obama is going to have to put up if he wants to run in 2012. I doubt if he does. The idiot has done everything under the sun to keep his bona fides away from the public. He’s done.
The Kenya Kongressional Kaucus [KKK] will probably use the race card again.

This is long overdue. I will be staying on both my Texas legislators and Gov. Goodhair to make sure this gets passed!!
This also needs to be done in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The legislation needs to be written up to call for the original wet ink document.
Good move!!! After today’s court verdict on that Muslim killer of innocents, we better damn well know where the person that is our OTUS was born, cause Obama and Eric Holder are sure not Americans. And....if they are, they should be called anti-Americans. As far as I am concerned these United States of America has no President, presently!!! An woe to any one of his Democrat budddies in the senate that votes for his SAFE deal with Putin & company!!! If Obama is for it, it is no good for our country!!!

Exactly correct. He won’t run because he can’t produce the documents. He won’t want to be embarassed so he’ll run for the hills. The interesting part will be the excuse he uses.

This will insure that Obama drops out of the race.
I don’t know but they should. Doesn’t every candidate have to have approval by “every” state?
I doubt it. He fall back on the old stand by for politicians that know that they can’t win.

They should sumbit a law.. Presidential candiates must qualify based the Law of Nations.
This will fix the problem.
Now that Republicans have control of the house, Rush and the other yappers may feel more confident about talking about Obama’s eligibility.
