Nothing else.
Sadly, you can bet that several did. :(
Perhaps so. I’m sure they saw these comments as a attack on Bristol because I supposedly hate Sarah. People are going to think what they will.
Well, I certainly hope so! :-)
.
> “You corrupted a process and promoted someone who was not as worthy as the person who was voted off.”
.
That is your irrelevant opinion - Stuff it!
.
.
> “Clearly Brandy was the better dancer.”
.
Clearly NOT!
.
.
> “If Bristol wins this, then Id say DWTS is unfair...”
.
Will y6ou leave FR too?
You, you populist haters you!
It doesn't matter the reason they vote for her. We're all FREE to vote for who we want for the reason we want. You all need to stop dictating to the rest of us who we should vote for. Get over it.
You should seriously consider counseling.
You advance your personal perceptions to an unwarranted height.
Bristol is one of the better dancers on the program, although I do not consider her the best. The best dancer is an employee of the program, and a long time professional.
Technically, Bristol is the only one that should be elligible to win, because she is the only one that has not danced professionally.
We do have a strong right to be proud of her.
.
Nobody pushed the abuse button, although it was an abusive rant to be sure.
LOL! When we were young, my cousin shot the TV set with his BB gun to "help" some cowboy who was being chased by Indians...I can't remember what show it was. It make a very satisfying sound when the screen exploded.
Hey! Maybe the Detroit Lions should think about doing this...
Silly. Baseball has clear objectives that require obvious results - like actually hitting the ball where no defender can catch it or pick it up and throw it the to right place at the right time. Or pitching the ball in a way the keeps the batter from hitting it. Or, running to a base before someone can throw a ball to that same base. Getting the picture?
Dance 'competitions' are judged. Always have been. Always will be. DWTS, as a commercial product, developed a judging process that wanted the viewers to share in the judging. That's it. Nothing more. It's an 'eye of the beholder' vote for everyone, even the judges on TV. The main objective is to increase viewship and get great ratings. I think they have accomplished that this season.
But....if some numbskulls do decide to let us vote on a World Series winner....well, then GO CARDS!!!!!!!
You are very kind, D1.
While you do address some valid dynamics, it’s still valid to note someone who is stumbling across the stage and expressionless, while others are putting out a very nice routine.
I am addressing the situation four to six weeks back, but the description is accurate. She has improved. There’s no question about it. However, there is reason to believe that those who were out-dancing her weeks ago, would have improved also.
The scoring is subjective. And that is unlike baseball. I have still watched closely, and I do not think the judges were being unfair to Bristol at any point in the show.
Thank you for the counter opinion.
Well I wouldn’t go quite that far. You made some good points. Nothing I can do about that. ;^)
Thanks for the comments. Shooting or throwing a brick through the television is generally a good sign that folks shouldn’t be watching it. LOL
> The difference is that my point of view isn’t permitted here. I’ve been told I’m self-righteous, petty and I’ve been told to just “shut up” by people who claim the right to promote on other than merit. That is their right. However, I’m embarrassed by their values. Is this what I can expect when our side dominates the culture?
Excuse me? What do you mean your view isn’t permitted? Haven’t you expressed it? Do you mean that people aren’t all agreeing with you?
Are you the only one permitted to make value judgements about other’s character? You complain about being called self-righteous but yet tell people who voted for Bristol that you are embarrassed by their values.
The show isn’t all about being the best dancer. If it were they would only have the judges opinion matter. People vote for their favorites for many reasons. You seem to want to sit in judgment of those reasons and proclaim who is moral and who isn’t.
Fortunately many of us conservatives are able to multi-task. I made more phones calls the past two years to my representatives than I have to vote for Bristol. We even managed to turn our state back over to repubs in my state. If I want to watch a show a few hours a week that gives me some joy and entertainment so what? And if I am allowed to vote multiple times for my favorite on the show I will do it because you can be sure that is what others are doing for theirs.
I’ve watched this show for awhile now and many contestants have made political points on the show about gay rights for example. They’ve used the show as a platform to make a political statement. And in fact a couple of weeks ago the show had a comedy skit that poked fun at the right and the tea party. The show brought politics into this to raise their ratings. They poked us with a stick and we poked back.
Sitting on my hands with some sort of false sense of morality and letting Bristol lose isn’t going to save the world or prove to the world that conservatives are walking on a higher ground. Please. Put this into some kind of prospective.
