The ratings are in, and it looks like Sarah Palins Alaska is a hit. TLC says nearly 5 million total viewers tuned in to the premiere of the series.
In case you havent seen our previous coverage, Sarah Palins Alaska is a documentary series from producer Mark Burnett and starring former Alaska governor and Fox News Channel contributor Sarah Palin.
TLC says 4.96 million total viewers tuned in, including 1.8 million adults 25-54, and 1.6 million adults 18-49, two of the networks key demos. That is the best premiere in network history with regards to total viewers, beating the 2003 debut of What Not to Wear.
I love the Car in the Ditch analogy. The Left trying to blame Bush while O's foot has been stuck on the accelerator the last two years. George misplaced his veto pen but he had 911 and Katrina and Iraq going on. Now, we understand Rove's role better in light of things 'conservative'.
I got to wondering whose prints were on the brake pedal these many years and could only come up with Regean's. The big government accelerator has FDR's, LBJ's, and now, BHO's prints all over it.
If anything, Sarah knows how to get out of a ditch, regardless who's riding in the back. A lot of women know how to do things, I hope this show demonstrates that. There are a lot of political women I wouldn't vote for as President, including spouses of former Presidents. Sarah's common sense coupled with Alaska's vastness suggests she's from a place where big things happen and solutions are quite doable if one is not afraid. The folks in the lower 48 (or is that 56) may come to see this with her Alaska special. I certainly hope so.
Obama would just say to the rock, its Bushes fault I’m here!
Agree..... yet pretty funny as well !
Some of our Republican presidents have inadvertently put their foot on the gas, too. Didn't Nixon create the EPA? Ronaldus Magnus himself signed an amnesty bill for illegals in 1986. Dubya signed the first TARP bill...and so it goes.
I will say, in their defense, that it was never any of their intentions to balloon the size of the federal government, but they all caved in to the big gov't agenda here and there.
As you say, though, the Democrat presidents have burned rubber and run over the pedestrians whenever they've gotten the keys to the car.
I don’t think the media made her. We here had known about her for a year or two before the summer of 08. When McCain picked her, it was Katie bar the door. But the thing that MADE her, was her immediate ability to draw 40, 50, 100 thousand people to her rallies. And to get people to open up their checkbooks. People LIKE her gosh darn it, and Cash is still King in politics.
I watched it and enjoyed it.
My favorite line....”oh mom...take your prom hair and go home”...LOL
Really!!? Is that your analysis? That the teenage Bristol decided to get pregnant as a symbolic gesture to defy her mother who just talks too much? Gosh - It's like you think with your keyboard...
If I were a betting man, my money would be that Bristol (and Levi) made a few mistakes in the whirlwind of young love and a moment of intimacy. Life happens - The Palins have an addition to the family who is welcome and loved.
I disagree with your Bristol comments, but I agree it might be a good idea to let other people talk more. We don’t want Sarah to be overexposed, or people get burned-out by the constant talk.
In reality TV, even Margaret Thatcher would need other people adding often to the conversations.
They also need to increase more the “documentary” feel to it. But that’s my personal opinion; I was greatly interested in the Alaska facts and information given... just wasn’t enough of it for me.
These are only mentioned as helpful suggestions. I’m thrilled she’s doing the show, and the scenery is spectacular.
I agree, but the kind of attention she has received would have destroyed just about anyone else. Governor Palin is thriving because she is a fighter. She hasn't let up since the 2008 election. While Republican leadership was cowering in a corner MIA. Governor Palin was out in front... out in the open... challenging President Obama and the Democrat leadership. She stepped into the vacuum created when Republican leadership didn't know how to handle their loss in 2008 and the Tea Party Movement.
When we think about recent American success stories... we think of Microsoft, and Apple Computers. Governor Palin is destined to be one of the most memorable success stories. She will be our next president! No one else holds a candle to her right now. If you look at past elections, now is the time when the candidates first start coming forward.
Bobby Jindal just released a book, “Leadership and Crisis” which may be on it's way to becoming a best seller. But how does that compare to Governor Palins books and now her TV show which is well on its way to becoming a hit? She is becoming such a force that as much as Carl Rove and company would like to... I am not sure that anyone in the Republican establishment will risk trying to drag her down at least in an open way.
Sarah is one lucky woman, too... if you catch my drift.
If ou have digital cable, perhaps it will be on “On-Demand,” or whatever it is called where you are. My cable provider has just-released TV shows for free.
YOU BETCHA!! :-)
Visited the DUmp to see what their reactions were—of course, most of the DUmmies protested mightily that they did NOT watch it (yet were able to relate specific things that happened during the hour, hmmmmm)—of course, their famous tolerance of other people showed through...they wished a bear had eaten Sarah, they would’ve paid PPV for that; they hated her ‘screeching’ voice’; obviously she’s a bad mother because she called Willow from downstairs; yada, yada, yada.
LOL.
I have some liberal friends on FB who are more open minded than the DUmmies, several actually watched and expressed surprise that Sarah was NOTHING LIKE THE MSM HAD PORTRAYED HER FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS. They actually enjoyed the episode a lot! :-)
Yup. They’d been had. But now eyes are being opened! Sarah, you magnificent Alaskan!!
:-)
Maya and I both had the same reaction! Maya said, “Piper and Willow and Trig are gonna be the stars of the show, not Sarah, mom!” :-)
They certainly have their mom’s chutzpah, that’s for sure! ;-)
“Rock climber or rock star??”
Loved how she made fun of herself, LOL. :-)
Also loved Piper impersonating Sarah on the blackberry, LOL! :-)
I think it's best if he didn't based on his baseball pitching performance. He would probably take out the cameraman.
I love it when LIBERALS WHINE! 5 MILLION VIEWERS BREAK ALL RECORDS!!!
WAAaaaaaaHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! Wahhhhhhhhhhh!
The Networks are run by liberal fascists. They regard Sarah’s show as conservative pornography. They are mad as hornets.
The networks CANNOT shut Palin out! Buhahahahahahahahaha!
Thank you Sarah!!!!!
Some teenagers are just dumb. We can’t use common sense as a barometer for what they do.
I don’t have TLC ;( What did McGuiness McGoo do? Did they film him peeking from his deck or through the fence?
