Bill Gates: Capitalism Has 'Systemic' Problems Government Should Address Bill Gates says that the federal governments job is to address the systemic problems of capitalism. Wednesday, November 10, 2010 By Nicholas Ballasy
(CNSNews.com) - The CEO and Chairman of Microsoft Bill Gates said that capitalisms systemic" problems are not doing enough for research and the needs of the poorest.
In general, the world under funds research because the person who takes the risk of doing the research doesnt capture the full benefit of having done it and so you know, capitalism does amazing things but it has one systemic problem in terms of research that it wont do enough, Gates said at the mHealth summit in Washington on Tuesday.
It has another systemic problem in that the needs of the poorest will not be prioritized the way they would if you put a more human values driven system in. Now, of course we have government that comes in and does its best to take, you know, the beauties of capitalism, which work for so many things and is so fantastic and whenever it can be used, it is better than government.

Corporate Socialists have overrun this nation.
They indoctrinate employees on homosexuality and green gaia worship in the name of compliance training and then sell out the citizenry.
We have so addressed the supposed problems of capitalism that we are now closer to a socialist society than a capitalist society.
Socialism has many more problems than capitalism does, and we are living them right now.

The "systemic problem" is that there is too much government interference which CAUSES the lack of benefit accruing to the risk-takers. Government is the cause of the systemic problems, not the solution.
Bill, STFU. If you are so concerned about the poor, how about donate 90% of your wealth to charity? What more can we do for the “poor”? We already give them free food and med care. How about free cars, Tvs, houses. Liberal elitist moron.
Embrace and extend.
The only “research” MS did was how to squash your competition and steal “their” research.....
Wait till Michigan’s “Tough Nerd” takes office and shows us how conservative he really is. LOL
Government is the “systemic problem” with capitalism
Gee Bill do you think that you would have developed Microsoft operating systems if you had been some working in some government funded research facility? Ditto for any other of the technological innovations of the last 50 years...contrary to what Joe Biden might think.
>> After hes made his billions, hes come to this conclusion...
Hey, he HAS his. Why should he care if the policies he advocates make it harder for you to get yours?
After all, he’s sooooo much smarter than us. The system that worked for him is flawed, and only he is smart enough to recognize that fact and fix it.
Why should the government address it? If there is still research to be done, and if there are still poor people in need, I guess Gates isn’t doing enough. Why doesn’t he take care of these things?
IDIOT SAVANT
Gee Bill, why don’t you move into a nice 2,400 square foot house and give the rest of your money away (you can keep a million or two to get by) and then I’ll listen to you. Until then, S-T-F-U.
Bill Gates is rich, smart, and BORED OUT OF HIS MIND. Please, somebody, find something that will occupy his brain and warm his heart so he’ll leave the rest of us the hell alone.
What a stooge.
We have a mixed economy. And it doesn't work well.
What the Soviet Union had (and Cuba, etc.) is a socialist economy. That doesn't work well either.
Well, if socialism doesn't work, and if a mixed economy doesn't work -- why would more government intervention be the suggested fix? Why not less government? Why not a return to the free market? That's the thing that works.
Seems to have worked for him pretty well. I guess he doesn’t recall Clinton’s lawsuit against his company nor Bush’s letting it drop. Selective memory.
Yep, and one of 'em that Government Should "Address" is Bill Gates.
The Eternal Fallacy of Socialism is that the collective is inherently more humanitarian than the individuals who comprise it.
Government has no soul, no conscience, no sense of continuity or purpose. If the acts of individuals are heartless, contemplate the depravity of which such a collective is capable.
Yet liberals constantly demand we leave compassion and charity to the Government. There is no worse executor of those virtues.
