It's the day ordinary citizens stand up for their rights, stand up for liberty, and protest the federal government's desire to virtually strip us naked or submit to an "enhanced pat down" that touches people's breasts and genitals. You should never have to explain to your children, "Remember that no stranger can touch or see your private area, unless it's a government employee, then it's OK."

I haven't flown in years and have no plans to do so in the foreseeable future.
First I saw it, and I think it will have no effect on anything. Too little, too late. A sustained boycott - possibly supported by the pilots’ and attendants’ unions might change it.
The problem with a 4th Amendment argument is that the TSA/DHS defenders will claim that the passengers waived that right, which is their right to do, when they submit to the search.
Breaking Janet Napolitano and domesticating the feral DHS through political processes is the better way to go, and something the new TEA congress should address.
Just wondering how many folks are aware of this and do you think it will have any impact on either thanksgiving travel, and do you think it will impact TSA policy at all

I wasn’t aware of this, I do think it will slow travel down and I don’t think TSA will be bothered at all.
It might actually make some TSA control-freaks and TSA perverts happy.
I think the opt out is a good idea, we need to try and stop this any way we can.
I think the next time I take a flight, I’m wearing a cup.
So, it will slow down lines for Thanksgiving travel?
I love how the toll-takers on the Pennsylvania Turnpike went on strike to make things more of a hassle and get attention to prevent job cuts.
Public reaction? EZ-Pass subscriptions went through the roof and they didn’t need nearly as many toll-takers.
Who gets the idea that inconveniencing the public will make them support your view?
think most of the TSA have not even graduated high school.
It’s the same people who were working at airport security before 9/11.
There’s a photo of a woman head scarf wearing muslim TSA worker patting down a nun of all people.
My MIL went through Boston and got patted down and quizzed while the young Pakistani’s behind her go right on by.
It’s so frigging stupid and most of the TSA should be fired so they can be replaced with much better people like veterans (who know whaty common sense is)

It's not prime zucchini season, but you can still get them.
And wrap it in Aluminum foil like they did in “Spinal Tap”...
I travel a lot, to much actually and I’ll always opt out and then request a female to grope me.
The whole TSA thing is BS anyway it’s nothing more then a “feel good” measure and although there are some TSA folks that take their job seriously, most are incompetent.
Ridiculous. Wit all the training and background checks and restrictions required to get a license to buy a nun's habit, we should know anyone with such garb is safe!
My MIL went through Boston and got patted down and quizzed while the young Pakistanis behind her go right on by.
Is her name Daisie E. King?

Well, that's true. There's not a single veteran alive out there who has died from a terrorist attack while serving. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yH8yuld4DUE
That would set off the detector early and you don’t get the full effect. Don’t want a problem with Premature Detection!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yH8yuld4DUE was meant to have commentary attached. But I think that the relevance to the thread is obvious.
I got that treatment when flying right after 9/11, but it wasn't as pleasant as you might thing--considering she was a FINO.
((My boyfriend and I ALWAYS get stopped/searched/detained by TSA because he is Dominican and I am a Czech/Russian blonde white girl. TSA geniuses ask him questions like - and I am not kidding here - "How come you have a Spanish name?" "Do you know A-Rod?"))
The enhanced pat-down technique is designed to make the naked scan the less intrusive option. In order to be worse than that, they pretty much have to grab your crotch and shake.
Why else would this new pat down have become suddenly necessary at the very time the naked scans were being rolled out all across the country. They are trying to herd us all through their scanners, and all the crotch-grabbing is the way theyll do it.
The way to combat this, of course, is to opt out and demand that the TSA employee fondle you in a very familiar fashion. Then, what you must do (and this is the tough part) is pretend that you are enjoying it. If the TSA employees have to deal with dozens of passengers every day who are appearing to be gratified by their actions, this enhanced pat-down procedure will be modified in one heck of a hurry.
We need to opt out of the TSA. Our model for airport security should be Israel. But then, big sis would have to actually hire and train real security personnel. Sadly, the government would rather pay to irradiate us and sexually molest us than to do what it takes to REALLY protect travelers.
Everybody move your dates one day forward or back.
Take the train or rent a car.
Just for one day.
What if all the airports were empty for an entire day.
Can you imagine how much this would cost the airlines ?
Idle employees. Empty planes? Rescheduled crews ?
Just say NO.
It should be disbanded, it's employees fired and any credit for Federal service expunged from their records. These people are no better than dogs.
