It's the book that changed America.
And it isn't often that a book -- any book, even a popular, bestselling book like Mark Levin's Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto -- can be said to have changed the course of American politics and history. The phenomenon is rare, extremely rare, usually taking both the country and even the author by surprise.
Yet Levin's book has done just that, saluted by Minnesota Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann in an exclusive talk with The American Spectator as "providing [the] intellectual balance and foundation" of the Tea Party movement. A movement that stands triumphant this week in the wake of the conservative landslide that Levin himself believes can revitalize the conservative cause that Ronald Reagan once led to the White House.
The results of the 2010 revolt against the Obama Era are staggering. The success of the Tea Party; the defeat of over 60 of Nancy Pelosi's House Democrats; the election of a half dozen U.S. senators, ten governors and almost 700 state legislators. What startles even more is that one campaign after another focused on the issues Levin featured in his book -- the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, statism, the dangers of a powerful central government.
Campaigns "motivated and inspired" specifically, says Bachmann, by Levin's Liberty and Tyranny..
Levin himself emerged as an unlikely rock star in the cause of the Constitution, the author literally besieged at book signings as thousands waited hours for a seconds-long meeting and signed copy. This video posted by a Levin fan of a book signing at Tysons Corner, Virginia, outside a rainy Washington, D.C., illustrates a fraction of the Liberty and Tyranny phenomenon that was sweeping the country.

One of the best, if not THE best, books I have ever read.
Well, now you can tell him directly here on this thread and see what he says to you.
“UNLIKELY rockstar”?
I think NOT!
Levin is too much of a coward to even broach the subject of POTUS eligibility.
Men in black: how the Supreme Court is destroying America By Mark Reed Levin(Google books)
Good luck with that...
It relates to Article II section one and the definition of NATURAL BORN CITIZEN. Hey Levin.......you Big Dope!! I know how that phrase scares the C*@P out of you. 'Constitutional scholar' my @$$.
I believe that Michele Bachmann is absolutely correct about Mark’s book.
Of course that's nonsense. There is nothing in the Constitution that prevents the Senate from filibustering judges. I'm sure I said so at the time. I'm sure I got flamed for it, and I'm sure once the power structure in Washington flipped, my view was suddenly acceptable.
Well, I was just disappointed. I thought that it simply re-stated all the stuff that we already knew, and I mean conservatives of almost any level of education.
The book struck a raw nerve in many Americans at a time when they were concerned about the future of our nation due to creeping over-regulation, over-taxation, continued growth of the federal government, and of course the bursting of the housing bubble and subsequent financial crisis. His book signing events were met with huge throngs of people, this should have been seen as a seminal moment with by elites. Instead this awakening was being brushed off as a reaction to Obama’s election as racist.
Combined with Rush Limbaugh’s courageous proclamation “I hope he fails” and then Rick Santelli’s famous rant on CNBC, conservatives and patriots gathered their strength and began to rise up, organize and realize we are not alone.
Can’t wait until 2012...in the meantime there is more work to do in finding more quality congressional, state and local conservative candidates to run for public office.
Yep, starting in 2009 all of a sudden he started saying it was constitutional even though his book still says it's not. But don't forget, it's those libs that have that Living Constitution because their 'Ends justify their Means'. My coolaid drinking days are over.
Don’t forget Savage’s “Trickle Up Poverty” as an election turner, now and in 2012.
Apparently, Sprite the Dog ate Mark Levin’s copy of the Constitution, particlularly Article II
I seldom listen to Levin on the radio. He is always cranky and cynical. However, he does have a great mind and can be eloquent; which is why I liked the book so much. Just because he was caught flat-footed on one call does not mean that his conservative manifesto is a waste of time or that he is a fraud.
Ah, now we know where you are coming from, the birth certificate question. Obama is the true “Manchurian Candidate”; his past including the original birth certificate and information about him being a “natural born citizen” have been locked up and washed clean by his handlers. We know he has something to hide but going there at this point is not going to gain traction among the 80 percent of the population that believes he’s a legitimate president.
It’s much more important to focus on his current actions as president to prevent further enactment of his Marxist/socialist agenda and roll back what has already been passed. Focusing on his qualifications to be president takes away from that all important effort.
Having said that, there may be an opportunity in 2012 to ask those questions during his renomination process when I believe the states again have to certify his qualifications to be president. That may pose a problem since there could indeed be some challenges in that area.
LOL
Amen!
Great article by Jeffrey Lord.
