New Delhi: The White House will, of course, stay in Washington but the heart of the famous building will move to India when President Barack Obama lands in Mumbai on Saturday.

Communications set-up, nuclear button, a fleet of limousines and majority of the White House staff will be in India accompanying the President on this three-day visit that will cover Mumbai and Delhi.

He will also be protected by a fleet of 34 warships, including an aircraft carrier, which will patrol the sea lanes off the Mumbai coast during his two-day stay there beginning Saturday. The measure has been taken as Mumbai attack in 2008 took place from the sea.

Obama’s India visit slammed for ‘over-the-top’ spending

Press Trust of India, Updated: November 04, 2010 12:57 IST

Washington: The costs of US President Barack Obama’s upcoming trip to India has been criticised by a Republican leader as “over-the-top” spending but the White House said the figures cited by the lawmaker have “no basis” in reality.”

When asked whether she would support cuts to Social Security and Medicare, Representative Michele Bachmann, a Republican from Minnesota fresh off a victory in her closely watched re-election bid, slammed the White House for the “massive overspending” for Obama’s maiden visit to India.

Is this how he’s going to get his personal revenge on Pakistan? How did Ears get into Pakistan back when Americans were barred from entering? What passport did he use? Why isn’t he a citizen of that country?

Can someone with knowledge tell us if it is common to take 34 warships?

This guy is out of control

The more he knows he is not going to be reelected the more the taxpayer is going to take it up the ying yang.

As far as I can recall this extravagant royal visit by Barry is unprecedented in the history of the U.S. The cost of his latest luxury vacation will reach a billion dollars. His previous five luxury vacations this year pale in comparison to this. Barry keeps coming up with novel new ways to jump the shark. He should resign if he wants to continue his permanent vacation tour.

Dear Mr. President,
Here’s how a President ought to make decisions;
Conduct a cost/benefit analysis.
If it costs $200 M/day BEFORE you decide to bring an entire carrier group, there is no net “benefit” from the trip!

If you just want to leave the country, I’m sure we can take up a collection to raise the $5k for you and your family.......

Something is awful fishy about all this, and coinciding with the QE2 "bailout" and the mid-terms.

“He’s insane. Literally.”

He’s a Liberal, Leftist, Communist, muzzie, egocentric narcissist. Of course he’s insane.

If we had a real Congress today with the balls to do their job, this A-hole wouldn’t get the funding he needs to be cavorting around the World having a good time at our expense.

This most important person in the world perspective of his has gone too far, and has to be curtailed. He’s a joke, and he’s blown our credibility all to Hell.

It does seem like he is giving American taxpayers the middle finger.

Makes one wonder if the Pentagon doesn't have a standby plan to relieve him from duty.
