PRINCETON, NJ -- Unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, is at 10.0% in mid-October -- essentially the same as the 10.1% at the end of September but up sharply from 9.4% in mid-September and 9.3% at the end of August.
This mid-month measurement confirms the late September surge in joblessness that should be reflected in the government's Nov. 5 unemployment report.
Certain groups continue to fare worse than the national average.
For example, 14.2% of Americans aged 18 to 29 and 13.8% of those with no college education were unemployed in mid-October.

We don’t see 10% at the BLS, why not?.....
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I’m among that 10%, or whatever it is.
It really sucks.
10%. Next year as the nation busting health-care nonsense bill kicks in (”We have to pass it so we can see what’s in it.”) the economy will dive like a Stuka!
I don’t see things getting better in my area for the foreseeable future. Thanks Obama voters.
I guess it’s an Indian Summer of Recovery...
But, but, the stimulus will help! Oh, wait.
They changed the way they report it or in other words covered up the real numbers

The thing about it is that as employers start getting ready for Obamacare, it could and probably will get worse.
It is really awful what is going on. I can’t wait to vote. but I really don’t know what or how the Repubs can turn this around short of making massive cuts in Government agencies like EDU,EPA, etc etc, bring our troops home from Afgan and Iraq and put them on the border. This is no longer a pipe dream it is becoming a necessity.
2 out of 13?
I'm so bad at math.
Prolly why I have no job.
I agree, on both counts.
I expect this to be covered thoroughly by the media. Sure I do.
*SIGH* I know that my company isn’t hiring...I’ll be lucky to get a few strapping young men to hoist Christmas Trees up onto SUVs this season. (I manage a Garden Center.) I’m 5’1”. I DON’T relish doing that by MYSELF this winter!
We are running The Tightest Ship Ever. I mean, it’s to the point where we (The Management) are taking out the trash ourselves...and cleaning the bathrooms...and sweeping the floors...etc.
I am thanking God DAILY for my job; please don’t think I’m whining! Heck, I’ll do just about ANYTHING honest for a buck...and even if it’s dishonest, these days, I’m willing to negotiate, LOL!
I’m just sharing MY life in MY little corner of the world...and it ain’t all roses. It ain’t even Bread and Circuses! :)

Obama wishes it were only 10 percent - it’s easily double that.
No...nobama wishes it were 20-30%. This is all planned from this anti-American loser of a president and his DIMocRAT minions...all PLANNED!
I hate to tell you but that is not a good sign. It tells me that the business has some major issues and may have to fold up soon. It may not even be that the place is in debt... It could be that it is no longer profitable to maintain the business. With the new tax hikes coming in January, it probably will not be anymore. Many businesses will lose money by just opening their doors on January 1st of next year because of the new tax rates.
I wish you the best of luck.
