If you are an American and you travel anywhere in the world in an official capacity, one of your first meetings is likely to be with the local American Chamber of Commerce.
Meeting with AmChams (as they are called) is an essential way to get a better understanding of how American businesses are doing in selling American products overseas. Members of AmChams (who are usually American) have an acute understanding of the local laws, the obstacles that foreign governments often place in the way of trade and the opportunities that exist for further investment.
AmChams are the tip of the spear when it comes to international trade. And without international trade, American business cant grow. And if American businesses dont grow, jobs dont get created back here in the United States of America.
When President Obama talks about the supposed foreign influence that has infiltrated the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, he is talking about dues that are being paid by these AmChams back to the Chamber.
His argument is complete nonsense. It smacks of McCarthyism. The argument itself is delusional, and it makes me wonder if the president has taken leave of his senses.
Worse for the president, by attacking the Chamber of Commerce in such a violent way, he reveals his hatred for the private sector, which only serves to rile up his opponents even more.
The Chamber of Commerce is not an arm of the Republican Party. For example, it supported the presidents stimulus package. It supported the auto bailout. It supported the small-business loan program that the president signed last month.
The business of the Chamber is to support business, not support the Republican Party. But the Chamber finds itself supporting many more Republican candidates this election cycle because so many Democrats have taken an avowedly anti-business turn to the left, led by President Obama.
The Chamber has no choice, because the Democrats, with their agenda of higher taxes, more regulation, more litigation and more powerful labor unions, are seeking to Hugo Chavez the private sector.
The charge that comes from the president that shadowy groups may have an undue influence on this election is especially hypocritical, given that Obama won because of the influence of George Soros and his compadres.
We know that Soros and his friends in 2006 and 2008 spent hundreds of millions of dollars funding radical, left-wing groups like ThinkProgress and the Center for American Progress (ThinkProgress is the group that made the initial charges against the Chamber). These groups didnt and dont divulge their donors, but I didnt hear Obama complain about them once during his campaign for president.
The presidents latest attack on the Chamber of Commerce shows one thing conclusively. He is losing it. And his team is going to lose the elections badly in less than four weeks.
“0bama: Skunk
Biden: Field mouse.”
Perfect fit.
0bama: Skunk
I should have said Rattlesnake.
We may very well see some Dems voting with the Repubs in the near future, although I believe they'll only do it for reasons of self-preservation. They don't give a damn about the country, the people, or the Constitution.
"Veto-proof majority"? I don't think we'll see that until the next go-round, and then, it won't even be necessary. We'll have a president by then who is on the same page with the Tea Party.
Me too, although I predict "Health Reasons" - not family, or kids. Watch how gray he lets his hair get.
I've also thought that he'll step down for personal health reasons, but the manner and timing of his exit is anyone's guess at this point.
Also, watch Hillary!. If she steps down from the SoS, it's on. And, it's bad for Republicans. She's got all of the same leanings as BO, only she's more competent politically.
I actually don't see that they stand a chance with anyone else but Hillary, if Bozo steps down, but that scenario is fraught with danger for them, too.
I've analyzed this repeatedly on other threads, but I'll just say that if Sarah Palin is our nominee, then Hillary's sunk. If we put up anyone else against her, I feel she's at least got a chance.
...which is a lot more than we can say about Zer0....hell....nobody knows for sure where Zer0 was born...I don't even think that Zer0 hisself knows for sure....
Yeah, Obama can quietly tell Meek to step out of the race, but I don't believe that it will save Crist's hide, at this point. I think the momentum going the other way is just too strong.
With his and moochille's ego, I doubt he will take any clue from that visit.

What a dunce!
Thanks for the extra 7% points for our side Zero!
I believe he'll give a speech on strawberries Nov 3rd....
In early 2011, JOe Biden will resign from government 'for health reasons' and Hillary will be appointed the veep. Then n the fall of 2011, perhaps before Halloween, Barry will step down, for an as yet undecided reason which will when aired to the nation cause black voters to pounce upon the Republicans and come to Hillary's support for her 2012 run.
I agree- I really can’t see how he could be any worse than the dedicated enemy of the USA and the white race that we have now.
IMO, Palin comes off very well vs Hillary. Palin vs anyone else, I'm not as confident. For better or worse, the MSM has done an excellent job of marginalizing Palin. I'm not sure that she's electable, at least in the short term.
I don't like it, I just call 'em like I see 'em.
What I'm hoping for in 2012 - regardless of what the Dems do - is that someone comes out of nowhere for the Republicans. If they follow the usual protocol and run a re-tread like Romney, McCain, Huckabee, etc....frankly, that turns any race into a tossup.
There are plenty of good people waiting in the wings. Jindal has been trying to get some spotlight lately. I keep hearing the name "Pawlenty" kicked around. And FR certainly likes Jan Brewer or Chris Christie, though I'm unsure that they'd make good presidential material. A couple of good speeches does not a president make - see our current fearless leader for proof of that.
People who've bought in to the MSM attacks on Sarah Palin weren't ever going to vote for her in the first place. They only needed the rabid MSM to give them a justification to despise and oppose her.
Then, there are those, like me, who understand these attacks for what they are, and lend them no credence. I've looked at Palin with my own eyes, and have chosen to support her, according to my own conclusions.
Lastly, there are those who have had their affinity for Palin alloyed by the scurrilous attacks in the press. These are the doubters whom she'll have to convince, which is normal in politics. If anyone has what it takes to draw supporters to her, I believe it's Sarah.
Over the next year and a half you can expect to see support for her climb and climb. That's my prediction.
With his and moochille’s ego, I doubt he will take any clue from that visit.
Neither did Hitler when certain Generals visited him in der fuherbunker.
0bama is ending up as an extremely pathetic character.*
0bama winning the Nobel Prize reminds me of when Zoolander thought that he won a prize and went on stage to accept it.
"Who am I?" [Zoolander looks into puddle]
nobama, moochelle and their disturbed family need to just disappear. Space aliens took them. Yeah, that’s it...space aliens. nobama...Bwaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Yep. The military swears to uphold the Constitution, not a dictator that abuses the Constitution and the Executive Branch.
It’s too late for that. His “base” is totally demoralized. Nobody would go to war for him at this stage.
0bama is pathetic and they know it. He’s going to end up (figuratively) like Stalin; laying on the floor with a stroke and wet pants and they didn’t even call a Doctor to save his sorry ass. Stalin could only look up at those surrounding him.
