Several developments have occurred in recent days that indicate something as innocuous as visiting pro-gun rights websites that are critical of government Constitutional compliance, and especially participating in comments and forums, can results in heightened law enforcement scrutiny and even as a supporting criteria for "legal" intervention.
On Friday, I told WarOnGuns readers I was aware of a child welfare case in New Hampshire where one of the criterion for removing a child from its parents was an ostensible membership of the father in what protective services was characterizing as "a militia known as the Oath Keepers."
Long-time readers know we've discussed Oath Keepers--specifically not a militia group--many times, including attempts by the Department of Homeland Security, the Southern Poverty Law Center, opportunistic politicians, and certain media outlets to conflate them with violent haters. For this, and other reasons, I told WoG readers I was deferring to Rhodes to take the lead on this, and maintaining contact with him behind the scenes.
He has since issued this report, used as the basis for a WorldNetDaily story by Bob Unruh. It appears the father in question's tie to OathKeepers was that he commented on their forums. A danger, per Rhodes:
But an even more fundamental point is that regardless of the other allegations, it is utterly unconstitutional for government agencies to list Mr. Irishs association with Oath Keepers in an affidavit in support of a child abuse order to remove his daughter from his custody. Talk about chilling speech!

“If its a list of those who are against the policies of this present government administration, I will be PROUD to be on it!”
I know I turned myself in (and “almost everyone I know”) when Obama asked folks to report opponents of Obamacare by email.
I’m SandRat
They will start by using the IRS to harass everyone they can pinpoint.....

Been there and done that.
You can call it "Enemies: Getting on their lists and then shooting them with this thing."
Interesting thread,,,TANKS,,,
Lets run the numbers,,,
The Military has about 2 million total around the world,,,
Total LEO’s number about 1 million total in the country,,,
American gun owners number about 90,000,000 at this point,,,
That makes us the largest land army on earth IMO,,,
There is no way the gubmint can control anything but some
large cities in the north and/or west coast,,,
All ready gone here...Ret. and living high up in the mountains in a very prepper conservative Town/area. You have some very, very valid points.. but... get the heck out of Dodge as fast as you possibly can NOW TS. Do not wait for the darn day the schumer hits the fan. (When martial law is enacted...interstate travel to your retreat will be 100% stopped by the NG within 8 hours.) Our motto here is...If yer gonna go down at least go down swingin’. FEMA Camps? Ain’t happenin’ to this old boy!...EVER. Stay safe.
Articles like these remind me of the old days on FR, like when one of us was visited by some secret service agents, that kind of thing. The paranoia was pretty thick, and I was so worried about retribution that I first signed up as “
Don’t wanna be audited”.
Ahh, the good old days, when all you had to worry about was an IRS audit.
I am Christopher May (really), and I demand the honor of being first on Obama’s list.
However, the way back is through STATES' RIGHTS!
There will be no CWII as so many like to imagine on this and other boards. That said, there could be a benevolent RVII through States' Rights efforts. The movement is building and I believe that is our last best hope to restore our Constitutional heritage.
Even if the 20 something lawsuits against obamicare don't pass Supreme Court decisions, STATE NULLIFICATION, as in jury nullification, can just tell the Fedgov to shove it.
Once again, I ask what would the Fedgov do if enough States just said NO? And how many States would it take to stand firm? I believe that 7 to 10 could make the difference.
What? The Fedgov stops sending tax dollars back to those States? What if those same States stopped sending tax receipts to the Fedgov? What would be the Fedgov's recourse? Military invasion? I highly doubt it. This is not the 1800's. NO ONE, including the WH has the stomach for that in this day.
I foresee negotiations with the States who stand firm and the WH eventually capitulating. That would be a historical Constitutional win for the balance of power. It would be the first step back to our Constitutional roots, and would most likely grow from there, providing the "gimmes" don't build too much power.
I guess I would too if I was a Dead Corpse. I really don't care either, I guess, because I have posted vile things about our homosexual Marxist president and that vile lifestyle of his--only because I stick to facts and reason, of course. Oh well, I am ready to fight for my life and freedom. It is time.
Probably will and copies of your posts will be found in Sandy Burglar’s pants...
They're not really worth waving all five fingers.
I’m sure I’m on it already.
PING!
I wonder if other Freepers have the same kind of "random" treatment at airports?
I used to be concerned about this when I was posting on FR in 1999, in the Clinton regime.
Then, I figured—in for a penny, in for a pound.
I am sure there are Obama drones monitoring this site daily.
Sometimes they post as “concern trolls”.
To zot with them.
The American Civil Liberties Union is one of America’s worst enemies and should be destroyed
(any one out there miss that?)
It would be interesting if FR would allow multiple users to share a screen name. Then we could all be Sparticus or somesuch.
Maybe if you stopped traveling disguised as an Amish farmer you’d fare better. ;-)
I used to get it every time I flew--prior to 9/11. Now, it's rare. (Immediately after 9/11, though, I was practically strip-searched...)
