GOP takeover of Congress would mean 'hand-to-hand combat,' Obama warns

Reporting from Washington — A Republican majority in Congress would mean "hand-to-hand combat" on Capitol Hill for the next two years, threatening policies Democrats have enacted to stabilize the economy, President Obama warned Thursday.

Speaking on Michael Baisden's syndicated radio show, Obama also made a direct appeal to African Americans about the importance of the November vote, even though he's not on the ballot himself.

"The reason we won [in 2008] is because young people, African Americans, Latinos -- people who traditionally don't vote in high numbers -- voted in record numbers. We've got to have that same kind of turnout in this election," he said. "If we think that we can just vote one time, then we have a nice party at Obama's inauguration, and then we can kind of sit back and suddenly everything's going to change – that's just not how it works."

Believe me I hope and pray I am wrong, but something is nagging in my heart and in my mind in a way that sadly makes me believe that I am right.

Do you not think that the men in Athens, Tennessee on the 2nd of August 1946 agonized about what they were about to do? I don't believe for one minute that these veterans who had already see so much war wanted to see it in the streets of their home town. But what were they to do they had tried legal means and yet to clearly no avail.

I am sure that you can find no war mongers among our Found Fathers and yet they had the foresight to include the Second Amendment in our Constitution, because they were wise enough to know our Republic could and possible would come under a attack that no words or law could stop.

I can not think of any time in the history of our nation, except with the execption of that warm August night in 1946 in Athens Tenessee that these words have rang truer:
"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

I hope in all sincerity that combat_boots is right and words will be enough and I certainly do not wish to trivializing what is at stake here, but I would like to add these lines from the movie 'Open Range' to my post:

Obungler the thug is threatening O’Connell because he thinks he can be rolled. I don’t know about Boehner but played right Obungler could lose his veto power.

IF we are fortunate enough to control enough of congress to actually make a difference/get things repealed etc. We need congressional leaders who will fight to get mod dim votes to over ride obungler’s veto.

This is where the tea party can really make headway - don’t just vote them into a cushy job (which is how most of them see it) but stay on their butts until they finally do some things the makers of American want instead of what the takers ‘demand’.

Read Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, Dreams of My Father, to get a handle on who he is. Glenn Beck has been pealing obama like some kind of onion daily on his TV and radio programs. You will not find this info on obama anywhere else, except when someone quotes the info found. You can verify it yourself to confirm Beck's findings. Each day brings new info on Glenn Beck's programs.

We pretty much know who he is, and we must take him out.

One possibility I’ve not heard many voice is that the Republicans will *not* win on 02 Nov; it is entirely possible [and probable] that the election-process regarding vote-counting and certification are [at least in some places] compromised.

Another possibility that others seem reluctant to acknowledge is that the newly-elected Republicans, as a party, will “reach across the isle” and ‘compromise’.
