Obama faults himself for not selling health law

Blaming himself for coolness to his health care overhaul, President Barack Obama is seeking to reintroduce the law to voters who don't much like or understand it six months after he signed it.

[T]he president rolled up his sleeves to address them Wednesday in a sunny Virginia backyard, highlighting changes that take effect at the six-month mark on Thursday. These include a ban on lifetime coverage limits, as well as free coverage for preventive care and immunizations. Young adults will be able to stay on their parents' plans until they turn 26, and kids with pre-existing health conditions won't be denied coverage.

"We just got to give people some basic peace of mind," the president said,

A new Associated Press poll finds high levels of misunderstanding about what's actually in the law, and more people opposed than in support. [W]ith crucial midterm elections six weeks away, the only Democrats running ads about the historic legislation are the ones who voted "no."

"The six-month anniversary of ObamaCare will be a lonely one for President Obama and congressional Democrats," Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said Wednesday. "The president's plan was unpopular when it was passed in March, and today the wholesale takeover of the American health care system is undeniably radioactive."

Obama ruefully told his listeners, "Sometimes I fault myself for not being able to make the case more clearly to the country."

Still, he took on Republicans who want to repeal the law, daring them to tell that to a cancer patient covered by a new high-risk pool, or a parent whose child was able to get insurance despite a pre-existing health condition.

"It makes sense in terms of politics and polls," Obama said of the GOP position. "It doesn't make sense in terms of actually making people's lives better."

Coolness? Coolness? Every opinion poll I've seen shows 50+% against this monster. Coolness? Seems more like outrage to me.

You realize that someone this studiously obtuse and this willing to ignore any sign of reality about his prospects is very likely to move to TV paid-time sales and thus inflict himself on people even more often than he already does.

Here he goes again with the “people are stupid, we just need to explain this more and they’ll love it” strategery.

Clue to ‘Bammy....problem isn’t with how it is packaged or sold...in fact YOU’RE the one that bought it...and then rammed it down the craw of the Ameican People just to see what would happen.

IOW, it's not the fault of the legislation, it's the fault of you stupid Americans for not understanding how great this is.

He is going to double down on his endeavor to convince those opposed that there is in fact a way to pick up this turd by the clean end.

That aside, you have to ask how a man so stupid as to put Obamacare back on the front page right when campaigning season is starting ever got elected President.

Let me see if I have this straight. Obama's read the law?

No one can sell water to a drowning man. The healthcare bill is simply a money pit generations deep.

Give up Obi, no one thinks you're cool any longer. The smartest ones never did.

Six months after he signed this abomination, he's still trying to sell it. Just one more address will do it - obviously the first five hundred did not. When is he gonna stop beating this dead horse - November 3RD?

Someone should sit this dope down and explain to him that he would have to have read to bill first before he “sold” it.

Not selling it? Hell, he made more speeches in support of Health Care Legislation than all the other subjects combvined. It wasn’t because he didn’t try and sell it, people just weren,t buying it. But of course, he was right and the American people were just dumb.

I am sure that health care for sick children is a good thing. Now explain to me why I have to pay for someone else's sick child? Why am I being punsihed. What did I do?

There is no reason to steal from me to pay for anyone else. Since obamacare is stealing from me (working taxpayers generally)it is unconstitutional at the start.

Why can't obama just leave and go back to his own country?

Pray for obama. Psalms 109:8

If he had engaged in proper marketing research at the beginning, he would have known it was NOT a marketable product.
