Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert is slated to testify at a congressional hearing Friday on immigration titled Protecting Americas Harvest, two sources have told The Daily Caller. One Republican source said Colbert will be testifying in character, the Bill OReilly-like muse Colbert uses for his show.
A Judiciary Committee spokeswoman, confirming Colbert would testify, said the hearing matter was a serious issue . . . this is not a TV stunt.
Some Republicans have already expressed unhappiness with Colbert witnessing at the hearing, thinking it would make light of a serious issue. The hearing is before the House Judiciary Committees immigration subcommittee....
This must be a comedy respite before our Congress Critters mass exit DC to tell us voters why we need them for another term.
Tomorrow they are calling in a necromancier to question the spirits of Moe, Larry and Curely on this serious issue. Secrtary of State Hillary CLinton has promised a seance with Eleanor Roosevelt on the same topic in the near future.
The sooner we get a “different” Congress, the better. The Dims are in full-buffoon mode now.
He's testifying IN CHARACTER and they expect us to believe it's not a TV stunt? Honestly, first thing I did was to look to see if this was from the Onion.
How about no more Hollywood liberals "educatin' us" with strawman conservative arguments?
I loathe Hollywood Reds and Viacommie is chocked full of them. Socialism is just soft-sell Communism.
maybe Lady Gaga can testify ,too...oh wait...already did.
I better check the mail. There is probably a summons to appear before the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Commission. I am sure I would have something Rad to say about the topic. YTDAW
Paris Hilton on Japanese trade policy?
Better know a district is one of the finest bits anywhere.

Gore looked ridiculous. Stewart, on the other hand, seems to understand himself. He knows who he is. I'm really not sure that Colbert can say the same thing.
Columbian trade policy.
Wha? Testifying in character? Then it is not real.
No, I believe that is Brittany Spears. Tila Tequila is going to testify on Immigration Reform.
Having Dee Snyder and John Denver testify on music labeling was legitimate use of celebrities. This appears to be little more than a stunt.
What’s next, Jeff Dunham and Achmed the dead terrorist?
But to have a fictional TV character testify?
This is a line that may not have been crossed before.
