Christine O'Donnell: "I Dabbled Into Witchcraft"
CBS News ^ | Dan Farber

Republican Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell doesn't need Facebook to dredge up her controversial past statements.

As a sometime conservative pundit a decade ago on Bill Maher's former show, "Politically Incorrect", O'Donnell said (in an appearance that wasn't aired) that she dabbled in witchcraft.

In the clip shown last night on Maher's current show, "Real Time," O'Donnell said:

"I dabbled into witchcraft -- I never joined a coven. But I did, I did. ... I dabbled into witchcraft. I hung around people who were doing these things. I'm not making this stuff up. I know what they told me they do. . . . "

During the next six weeks, Coons will portray O'Donnell as a flake. The GOP-establishment that backed Castle will hold Coons' coat during these attacks and smile contentedly. The News Journal, The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philly news broadcasts and the other dino media that infest the state will without relent print and broadcast stories reinforcing the Coons narrative.

I know evangelical Christians who once dabbled in the occult. What’s important is not what you once were, but what you stand for now.

You’d think her detractors would find this to be a positive for O’Donnell.

Not falling for the divide and conquer, Cloward Piven, MSM. Sorry. She may have been a stupid kid doing stupid things once.

Let’s all look into every big time news anchor’s background and start putting the spotlight on all their stupid-ass doings since high school and beyond. Let’s see all their warts out in the open.

Time to get the duck and the large scale out to see if she is still a witch.

She turned me into a Newt!

Seriously though, are people going to be upset about stupid, but legal things candidates did in their teens and early twenties?

it’s bad enough when the Mainstream media ridicules Christians, but now they are taking on the wiccans...don’t they know Wicca is Politically correct?

Witchraft? That’s the left’s most revered theology. The MSM should be full of adulation for her.

Has anyone ever seen Red Eye? Politically Incorrect had similar dialogue. The guests joked and made stuff up, lots of sexual innuendos, etc.

Get real.

Fresh off her victory in Delaware, GOP U.S. Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell is riding a wave of campaign cash but also internet infamy, thanks in part to her controversial statements -- most notably on masturbation -- in the late 1990s on Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect." Christine O'Donnell says one of her first dates occurred on a satanic altar. On Friday, Maher released on his new HBO show, "Real Time," an unaired clip of O'Donnell admitting to a brief dalliance with witchcraft.

Bill Maher -- on whose former show, "Politically Incorrect," O'Donnell appeared repeatedly in the late 1990s -- showed a previously unaired clip from Oct. 29, 1999, on his current HBO program, "Real Time,": O'DONNELL: I dabbled into witchcraft -- I never joined a coven. But I did, I did. ... I dabbled into witchcraft. I hung around people who were doing these things. I'm not making this stuff up. I know what they told me they do. I’ll be the only one to say it: I question the intellect of anyone, of any age, who at any time, believed witchcraft was even something real.

CBS wishes this will make it difficult for her but it will backfire. All this will do is make her seem like an average person instead of a member of the elite ruling class.

Most normal kids as part of the process of growing up considered off-beat stuff. If she and Palin keep this level of humor about the attacks, it'll really help the Republican renegades.

The media sure are slow learners. The nude Cosmo pictures helped Scott Brown. This stuff just isn't going to influence votes, especially after we were asked to forgive so much stuff with GWB and Obama. The double standard is out of control.

I dabbled with the occult, too. Read some books on it, played with an Ouija board, read horoscopes, etc. Then I grew up. Not only that, but I cleared the record by becoming a Christian and repenting of those mistakes.

Keep working on O’Donnell, MSM. You’re only endearing her to me (and other voters) more and more.
