The bill is called the Livable Communities Act (SB 1619) and it was introduced by corruptocrat outgoing Senator Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.). It seeks to fulfill the United Nation’s plan Agenda 21, adopted at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 and signed onto by “New World Order” President George H.W. Bush.
This bill is designed to destroy your community. According to the non-profit American Policy Center the bill:

High density developments are erected in existing cities while "green space" areas are set aside, conveniently occupied only by employees of the Trusts that "own" them (they never buy them, the land is basically stolen by manipulation of zoning laws or extortion against the existing owners).
So the "environmentalist" model for livable commoonities is...Manhattan. A tiny sliver of land, hyper populated, people living in rabbit warrens, and outside....blissful wildernesses occupied only by the Chosen Few.
Sound familiar?
The Soviet Union was the same way. Horrifying, deadening concrete apartment houses, soulless prisons, but the Nomenklatura, the bureaucrats, lived in peaceful Dachas in the countryside, away from the prying eyes of the Proles.
All been done before.
I’m parsing it now. I have letters to write.

Basically, it looks like an endrun around local government.
Interesting that the banking committee has this. You’d have your local governments AND a stakeholder involved in making the decisions.
Not this Sh!! again. Clinton/Gore tried to vilify the suburbs and rural America in order to herd us into cities in the nineties. It’s common knowledge that cities exert negative pressure on individualism ( this has been noted since Socrates’ day and is one of mankind’s first universal observations).
God, the liberal mind is cynical and lazy.
... And some people think shutting down the government is a bad thing.
They just never stop do they... November and Beyond! (new tag line!)
Need more info!
I’m hoping there’s a very special dwelling waiting for the senator. (hint: he won’t have much of a view through the bars)
Pfft....as if that ever stopped them before!
If such a bill is passed, it will never be repealed, just like obamacare will never be repealed. The federal government is drunk with power, and the only way the federal government will be put in it’s place will be via the second amendment, IMO.
They left “Start a shooting war” off their list.
Our best hope at this point is to elect fighters and those who understand liberty like Christine O’Donnell, Allen West, Joe Miller and Sharron Angle.
Yes, he should. His father should have had the same.
A few years ago i read a book review by a surprised academic which had to conclude that people were happier in the suburbs than in cities.
Just imagine no garden without joining the gardening group and growing whatever they vote to grow.
No smoking.
Read in UK housing — can’t put a doormat in front of your door — or potted plants — they are hazards.
Can’t have an argument with your mate without everyone knowing.
in Calif they banned barbeque pits/outdoor grills in apartments.
I’m sure someone in to inspect something all the time for safety, for the children, for your own good.
Didn’t Jefferson say something about how Americans might change if they were all herded into cities?
They’ve been promised the penthouses.
Upon reading only 1-9 at the beginning of your post I’m left wondering what business is it of the Federal Government’s. It isn’t. The itemizations are all State’s responsibilities, but mostly community responsibilities.
The Fed has been hijacked by Leftist radicals, and they all need to be in irons.
