SEPTEMBER 8--The Florida pastor who is planning to burn a pile of Korans this weekend runs a church that has established a variety of cult-like rules for individuals studying to become ministers, according to the groups rulebook.
The Dove World Outreach Center (DWOC), headed by Islam-hating Rev. Terry Jones, has been widely denounced for its September 11 bonfire plans. The tiny Gainesville church is headed by Jones and his wife Sylvia, a co-pastor.
The DWOCs Academy Rulebook, a copy of which youll find here, was created in November 2007 by Sylvia Jones. The document, which details the standards to which a prospective DWOC minister must adhere, addresses topics such as behavior, study, and communication. It is also filled with the kind of creepy directions that are often associated with cults.
For instance, students are directed to cut off most contact with family members. Family occasions like wedding, funerals or Birthdays are no exception to this rule, the rulebook notes. No phone calls. Exceptions can be made under certain circumstances but only after receiving permission.
The Joneses also barred Singles from having romantic relationships to the opposite sex

It is easy to confront Islam in the US where it is much less likely that you will be murdered and your entire family enslaved than it is when you are a distinct minority in a country where you are a second class citizen and the government will not protect you.
POST 157 wins “LINK OF THE DAY !!!”
I don't think that Jesus wanted everyone to be farmers, so I'll take that as a metaphor.
Therefor, the rest of what he said could be a metaphor as well.
"Did not Jesus say you had to leave the family had to hate your mother and father . . . "
I don't think it would be difficult to see that this could mean that you had to leave the control or the discipline of your parents (even your parents in the Lord) in order to become virtuous, to have a virgin mind, to receive the mind of Christ, your true Husband.
(Christ was born of a virgin.)
****It is easy to confront Islam in the US where it is much less likely that you will be murdered and your entire family enslaved than it is when you are a distinct minority in a country where you are a second class citizen and the government will not protect you.****
Well it sounds to me like this is the best time to confront Islam then.
blowhard, so now you want to the be tough guy over the internet .
get this into your head hey
First who the hell said I would do it?
no one
secondly, if you think I would be scared by doing something then you do not know me. I’;m sure as hell done more than you like dodging muslim rounds or seeing mass graves done by muslims who you want to appease.
thirdly
I can look after myself.
and finally stop the crap of name calling like the far left does hey.
I;ve seen what muslims do when they move in a place.
Have you , I doubt it?
No you want to look the other way and not piss anyone off.
Yea right, don’t provoke them , are you f-in serious we’re in war I’;ve seen pals die at the hands of these people and you want to tell me about me going to the media to say I am doing a koran burning, cut the crap right now.
i’ve got pals over there still in Helmund province , have you been there?
No didn’;t think so, how many muslims do you actually know and how many muslim countries have you been too?
You might not want to piss the muslims off but you sure as hell pissed me off with that crap comment.
Blowhard hey.
the man has every right to do what he wants, do I agree no not really but to say do not do something to provoke them is either naive or bieng a coward to islam.
you say in your profile good men will not serve because of the Dem party ever thought about us who have fought recently and then see people who will not fight for our constitution and think why did I go through all that crap and see my pals head blown off?
I listened to Jones on Hannity’s radio show today, and he seemed like a concerned citizen to me. Honestly, didn’t seem like a kook at all.
So you ARE going to do it? Just tell me where to watch and I’ll gladly send the bucks. I’ll send flowers to your family’s funerals, too, because no matter how tough you are, you can’t protect them 100% of the time.
See? Just because you have the right and can do something doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. As you say, it’s easy to be an anonymous voice on the Internet. It’s harder when you reveal who you are and it puts your family at risk.
BTW, I spent my time in the military, probably when you were still in grade school. I couldn’t stand the a$$holes who infest it and got out as soon as my enlistment expired. When the Army needs 49 year old former-sailors to fight for them, we are in real trouble.
Yes. Yes it is. I want the atrocities and barbarity that is islam to increase until the rest of the world gets sick of it and WIPES these worthless POS from the face of the planet.
Nice you are willing to sacrifice the lives of people you dont know so that a point can be made.
My Nephew is Sgt. Evan Vela. Nice that he is sitting in Leavenworth for putting one of these worthless POS in the F***ing ground.
Don’t fool yourself, we aren’t fighting for the Constitution in Afghanistan. We are sending troops there to draw terrorists to Afghanistan so we can kill them so they don’t come here and kill our families. At least that ought to be the mission.
imjimbo, you failed to read any of my posts before replying, I am against burning books. I repeat, this is about selective outrage by the US government who is using the full force of the government to attempt to intimidate this man into caving to Islam. If you don’t get it you never will. Very clear concept here. The man has committed no crime and has the First Amendment to protect his right to protest like anyone else. Get it? I didn’t think so.
If Revvie Jones were with the times he’d burn a Kindle or iPod, or B&N’s Nookie with Que-ran loaded on it! Even the newest iPads would do!
Sophomoric.
I read this (your) post on my Blackberry this afternoon and couldn’t respond (so I am now). It is certainly the ‘post of the day’ for me. I think you’ve absolutely nailed it. While I have read both sides on here (and both have very valid points).....I think you’ve captured it.
I dunno - I thought he was pretty creepy.
So you’re saying we should live in fear in our own country for speaking our minds?
Is this the way you want to live?
Mortrey said it best just a few minutes ago @ http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2585672/posts?page=33#33
I get that same deja vu feeling as well.
Why thank you very much!!
I think YOUR post just made MY day.
