(CNSNews.com) -- A coalition of American Muslims has released a Public Service Announcement (PSA) to combat what they call anti-Muslim rhetoric stemming from the Islamic center issue in New York City. The PSA says Muslims do not want to take over this country and do not support terrorism of any form.
We arent associated with any group. We maintain our independence and everyone who worked on this did pro bono and paid for the costs out of their own pockets, Hassan Ahmad, project manager of the initiative called "My Faith My Voice, told CNSNews.com.
"There is no organization behind this, said Ahmad. Its just a network of American Muslims who wanted to do something about the rise of anti-Muslim rhetoric stemming from the Islamic center issue in New York. We have no ties to the Park 51 people.
My Faith My Voices PSA contains a group of diverse individuals addressing stereotypes of Muslims.
"In recent weeks, a lot of people have been telling you what to think about Muslims, says one individual in the 60-second PSA.
They say you should fear me, suspect me, hate me; but the truth is I don't want to impose my faith on you, says the individual. I dont want to take over this country and I dont support terrorism of any form.
The PSA, which the coalition unveiled in a press conference at the National Press Club on Monday, also says Islam teaches individuals to respect all people.
Islam teaches me to respect all people, says the PSA. I am an American. I am Muslim. This is My Faith. This is My Voice.
According to its Web site, My Faith My Voice is a grassroots effort by American Muslims from across the country looking to present their voice on issues affecting Muslims and Islam in America. It is an independent network with no affiliation to any one organization or school of thought. It is a platform for you, me and anyone else who wants to reach out and talk directly to America.
On Monday, the coalition gathered with Jewish and Christian leaders at the Western Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. to speak about the PSA.
What they should have done, years ago, is create a message condemning the rise of anti-Western rhetoric coming from their fellow muslims. The silence of "moderate muslims" tells this story -- you're either with us or against us, and they ain't with us.
We don't hate you, we don't fear you, we think you are a rude and insensitive people who do what you want without any consideration for others.
I´ve read the quran. These...people are liars.
TRIVIA... I wonder if this gentleman on the NY CAIR board is the same gentleman referred to in the CNS news article. Maybe it’s a just a common name. I don’t know. Anyway, trivia time:

just reading the title and my thought is the PSA stars Achmed the Dead Terrorist..........”Silence! I kill you!”
No one has been telling me what to think about muslims. In fact I learned all I need to know about muslims and islam on September 11, 2001.
Now that more people are starting to see Islam for what it is they show up. Where were they 9/12/01?
Another mussie scum alert!
It is not rhetoric. We really don’t like you.
muslims have always through out history have built their mosques on areas they have won or thought they now own..
This is yet another prime example.
They call it a community center like the YMCA for all well then can woman in shorts work out who are not muslims.?
Can anyone work out there and go there without having to follow islam like they can at the Y .
thousands died in the name of islam and now they want to build a mosque right there and they think we should not ave a problem with them but ask them should non muslims be allowed into the city of mecca and they say no
Respect is a two way street and they need to be told this.
I’m fed up of these far left kooks who cannot understand the world we live in and decide to live in la la land.
If I go over there I am told to respect their laws, culture and traditions, well OK no problem from me
But now I am told that I have to respect their culture , laws and traditions when they come here.
OK now where is their respect from them to us???
They’ve had nine years to make their case.
I’ve read the quran too and if more did especially these kooks from the left they would see islam for what it really is and it is no peaceful religion, hell it is not even a religion.
Over a hundred verses calling for death to non muslims, many verses saying non believers are dirty and dogs.
It says in my words take over their countries , areas etc and try and make them muslims if they do not then kill , their words slay them.
The book is sick and is more of a 13th century book.
