BOSTON - Massachusetts has banned cigarette lighters that look like guns, pens, lobster claws and other objects in an effort to cut down on accidental fires started by children. State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan said the lighters are attractive to children because they look like toys. The bill was sponsored by state Rep. Geraldo Alicea. The Charlton Democrat tells The Boston Globe he was urged by fire chiefs in his district to raise the issue.

I have refridgerator that looks like a box that kids like to play in- can you ban all refridgerators next please?

When men no longer have internal constraints, external constraints must be applied. This is not an excuse of this stupid law, but a condemnation of those without the internal constraints.

They should just ban fire itself. Someone contact the Massachusetts Global Warming Panel to address this issue at once!

This turns another part of the otherwise law-abiding population into criminals and so-called ‘bad parents’. Arrests and fines coming in addition to lectures on how bad you are for having a child-endangering device in your possession.
