No kidding, they’ve had the signs up all week warning about the lane closures this weekend. Since it’s not raining now, you might want to try cutting thru Annandale on Edsel and Gallows then take Cottage, Lawyers and Hunter Mill thru Vienna to Reston.

Darned, I missed the pipes - love them. I just now was able to catch a few minutes of TV. The cameras showed the crowd at Beck's rally - impressive. But, at least during the short time I watched Sharpton’s rally, they did not show the crowd. WaPo and others are trying to combine those two. Must mean Sharpton’s crowd is less than expected.

Uh, they’ve threatened to assassinate Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and I’m sure Beck too...what’s wrong with taking precautions against the violence, btw? The Word of God stresses planning and preparation, as well as Faith in the God who is able to cast the body and the soul into hell (fear not those who can kill the body.)
We do not send out troops into harms way with just Faith - they are prepared. In a case like this - with hundreds of thousands there - and infiltrators - why not be prepared.
I just don’t see the issue and I don’t think it’s ‘over the top.’

The Obama Administration representin' at the Sharpton Rally. (I like how the reporter misspells country when referring to the Secretary of Education's speech - kinda says it all.)
Education Secretary Arne Duncan told the ralliers gathered at Dunbar High School that education is the civil rights issue of this generation. "Parents turn off the television. Educators we have to stop making excuses," he said. "The dividing line in our coutry today is less around white and black and more about educational opportunity. We've been too satisfied with second class school."
He made no mention of the large rally Glenn Beck held on the National Mall.
