Thousands of people have already poured into Washington, D.C. for a Saturday rally organized by conservative radio and television commentator Glenn Beck.
SNIP
Although camping is illegal on the National Mall, hundreds of people are choosing to spend the night on the grassy lawn of the Mall on both sides of the Reflecting Pool. They are doing that to get a better view on Saturday. Police say, as long as people remain awake, they may stay.
(Check out the video report of the crowd and Beck's pre-rally visit to the site at the source link. In the video, the reporter says there are equally large numbers of people in the hundreds on either side of the Reflecting Pool, hence I put the campers at a thousand.)

Everybody off to a good start.
I really wish I could attend. What a great group of people that must be... Prayers for safety for everyone involved, and attending.
lol... That’s awesome. I wonder if the dems who are trying to shut down FOX in businesses are in any of the hotels this weekend... Their heads would probably explode! LOL

We had reservations booked for 3 plus months for this...there was a group of 5 of us that were going to make the trip for it. We had to scrap it 6 days ago because of economic circumstances out of our control. Absolutely depressing not to make this trip.
More history of the signers Here Interesting. . . a good read on the day of the rally. . We need to continue the call. . to Freedom
How many lies about Beck AND MLK can you find in this Yahoo lead story?

I think the people there are going to use the link under breaking news, last I checked there were close to 400 posts.

Well they carefully omit a certain guest speaker that will be speaking, for starters.
I don’t know that I see any lies about MLK in that piece. I’m old enough to remember King’s speech and to remember John and Bobby Kennedy’s concern over King’s close relationship with two communists, Hunter Pitts O’Dell and Stanley Levison. MLK was very much a political progressive. Beck’s attempt to make him something else is one of the more bizarre exercises in reinventing history that I’ve ever seen.
Keep in mind....Sharpton is a ‘Race Baiter’
That’s power...;o)
“Thousands = at least dozens of people using CNNs people counter calculator.”
LOL! Yer right, as usual.
“Rev. Al says this is just a white guy trying to co-opt the civil rights movement.
Civil rights just be for black folks you know...”
Nope...for the Rev. Al, civil rights just be for his wallet.
HUGE bump!!!
I live in the Tampa area, and Beck was on here for years before he got on TV. People would tell me how they liked him but I thought he was a little rough, myself.
So when Beck came to TV first at CNN I was a little suprised. I just didn’t think he was that good. But then I saw him on Fox. They let him loose, and man, he is so much better on Fox than on radio and CNN. It’s like he found himself. And he addresses a very important topic that the MSM can’t stand - America and its roots in religion.
CNN can’t stand him, I’m sure, but they are still probably kicking themselves for letting him get away.
Damn, now I have to lessen my hate for those two:)
