Former Bush II operative and RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman is gay. People are talking about it from almost every imaginable angle. Why was he Republican? Why did the Republicans want him? How did such an allegedly anti-gay party as the GOP ever allow him to reach such high office?
But they dont ask the important question: Why is this a news story?
In these United States, around one or two percent of the public is gay. So one or two of every hundred people isnt straight. Why on earth should an announcement about one of them someone whom less than one percent of the American people has likely ever heard of, by the way coming out of the closet make national news?
Because, despite the veneer, it doesnt really have anything to do with the Republican Party platform, the conservative movement, or any specific political issue. Its all about the most important official Democratic Party strategy: the Politics of Division.
The Democrats have spent a century painting a tapestry of their opposition that bears minimal resemblance to Republican and conservative reality. The left has portrayed the right as rigid, extremist, cold and calculating, country club WASP, corporatist exploiters living on hereditary wealth. Never mind the fact that such a narrow demographic, even if crammed into a single Congressional district, couldnt manage a majority to elect a single Congressman, let alone win Presidential elections. The Democrats stick to their narrative with amazing success.
For decades, the left has therefore told the blacks, Asians, Hispanics, and non-WASP European whites that they must vote exclusively for Democrats, specifically because they are black, or Asian, or Hispanic, or otherwise hyphenated Americans. ...

“Former Bush II operative and RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman is gay.”
The instrument that could possibly measure the amount of indifference I have about Kenny and his little weenie whacker has yet to be invented.
I always thought he looked a little putz-y
Articulate well which is really the party of narrow-minded hatefulness.
The big question is why does Mehlman feel the need to announce how he gets his rocks off? Amazingly narcissistic.
This is really stupid. I think he was loyal to President Bush and the Republican Party. So what if he was gay during this time. He did his job. The only thing I believe now is that he should keep his private life, private.
“anti-gay party as the GOP”
I don’t know - is the GOP “anti-gay?”
The GOP doesn’t back the homosexual agenda.
Amazingly narcissistic.
&&&
Homosexuality = extreme narcissism.
the Left is under some sort of strange illusion that Conservatives actually care about this.
So Ken Mehlman is gay...I wish he would have kept his private life private, but that being said who gives a rat’s patoot. I don’t have a problem with that as long as he does not join NAMBLA.
And Mehlman/Wallace/Schmidt are holding a gay marriage event next month.
What the heck are they up to? Right before the elections? Are they trying to help Dems win?
Now WHO would have thunk Kenny was gay? WHAT A SHOCKER!! /s/
The MSM didnt put this out. He did. They are just happily reporting it. He and Ted Olson are gonna lead the fight to legalize gay marriage. Ted Olson, a rock solid conservative. Who wpuld have thunk it?
I think the late Barbara Olsen was the class of that pair. What a tragic loss.
“Because he’s a Republican. Had he been a lib, socialist, Marxist, Commie piece of garbage ...” You mean like Van Jones, Barry Dunham, or Valerie Jarrett?
