When Joe Scarborough wondered out loud "how many times can you set your hair on fire?" before viewers stop being shocked, you might have thought he was talking about Keith Olbermann, the man whose scenery-chewing soliloquies inspired an instant-classic Saturday Night Live skit.
But no, Joe was speaking of Glenn Beck. Perhaps the shot Scarborough took at Ed Schultz a couple weeks ago exhausted his monthly quota of internecine MSNBC insults.
On today's Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski and Joe took turns ripping Beck's promotion of the rally at the Lincoln Memorial he's staging Saturday on the anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech. Riffing off a Colbert Show segment showing clips of Beck, Mika claimed he sounded like a drama student "on crack." Scarborough, suggesting Mika might have gone too far, surmised Beck might merely have taken "stupid pills."

With Glenn Beck there are times ya gotta wonder...
Lori Klausutis
surmised Beck might merely have taken “stupid pills.”
They must have sent him some of theirs! ( I don’t think he took them )
The fact that they would feel the need to send disruptors or even consider it, gives credence to Beck.
All law enforcement knows that just about every Conservative Rally that has been held in the last two years:
1. Virtually no arrests of conservatives
2. Virtually no violence started by conservatives
3. And every place has been left cleaner than when we arrived.
4. Even the News now demonstrates, it is the left who commit acts of hate & violence.
NONE of that can be said for the other side.
May God watch and hold these folks in the palm of His hand.
Love how liberals are oh so tolerant of everything except the 80% of America they hate.
Pray for America
Yeah, but that was before they found the dead girl in his office I think.
It isn’t I who wrote I wouldn’t be there!
3. And every place has been left cleaner than when we arrived.
I love the above fact the most actually, conservatives do respect the environment and we prove it every time we rally.
Folks w no audiance are jealous.
Yes Beck is a master at something Slo Joe hasn’t a clue about; self promotion.
These two are just warming up the drumbeat against Beck. The left plans to destroy Beck, utterly and decisively, with this rally. There will be plants. There will be incidents.
Beck is on to them but let’s remember what they say about people who buy ink by the barrel.
I won’t go because I refuse to attend a surprise party where the surprise is on EVERYBODY.
Still waiting for Joe and Mika’s revamped 3 hour radio program.........
If I remember correctly.. Dr Martin Luther King and his father were Republicans prior to Kenndy having MLK Jr. released from jail....
I know who Beck is, but who is Joe and Mica?
The Rev-uh-ruuunnnd Walter Fauntroy sure is using some hate-filled and divisive rhetoric in his National Press Club appearance today. I would even go so far as to say that his angry rhetoric is stoking the fires for violence to occur.
And all this ugliness is coming from a man, a supposed man of the cloth, who in the very early 1970s ran his political campaign in DC on a slogan of "He's gonna get us all together."
I can still hear that tune from his campaign commercials on my black and white TV, sung by a few female voices, gospel-style... "He's gonna get us all together..."
It seems to me that he has hung up his cloak of brotherly love and non-violence and is now wearing a radical's suit of hatred and confrontation.
Does anyone think Mika and Joe could get 1 million people to interrupt their lives and travel from across the nation to attend an outdoor rally in DC in August? Didn’t think so.
I'd put forth that Mika and Joe were on crack, but I don't want to impugn honorable crackheads like that.
