Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- "We are on the right side of history! We are on the side of individual freedoms and liberties and, dammit, we will reclaim the civil rights moment. We will take that movement -- because we were the people who did it in the first place." -- Glenn Beck, on his nationally syndicated radio program, May 26.
It is Glenn Beck's most audacious stunt yet: This Saturday, in the company of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the National Rifle Association and others, the Fox News Channel host will stand in the sacred shadow not just of the Lincoln Memorial, but of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. himself, near the spot where King delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech 47 years earlier to the exact day.
During this event -- billed as "Restoring Honor" -- Beck will aim to "reclaim the civil rights moment" for his cause, and in the process he will continue what he's been doing for the last 18 months: bending the history of 20th-century America like a Philadelphia soft pretzel.
The revisionist message behind "Restoring Honor" is nothing new for the conservative shock jock. In the year and half since President Obama took office, Beck has led his loyal followers on a journey not just to "reclaim" civil rights but much more audaciously to rewrite the sweeping narrative arc of American history from the time of the Founding Fathers forward.

Your source for this is what, Beck? Either you have know idea what lds believe or you do know what they believe and you are trying to blur their blasphemy.
Christianity is not a grade system, you are either a Christian or you are not. Beck is lds, lds do not believe in the Jesus of the Bible. This by their own leaders words. Therefore they can not be Christians. What Beck is doing is what lds do, they work to be gods.

I’ve been chewing on what all has been said in here, and I’d like to propose an alternative viewpoint to this whole issue.
We were raised to be hard working, industrious Americans who work (to pay taxes) and play (to stay sane) in the same America as our neighbor. Some of us strive for greatness from a very early age, and some of us simply pass through our lives.
If a man or woman, regardless of faith, ascends to popularity because of his or her message, isn’t that essentially rising to the challenge of the American dream and meeting it? If Glenn Beck carries an audience of millions of listeners and viewers, and he has their trust and respect as a teacher and a political entertainer, then why shouldn’t he aspire to greatness? If Rush Limbaugh established a weekend rally in D.C. to bring together Americans, would we be having this argument? If Neal Boortz collaborated with other Conservative radio hosts to march on D.C., would we be having this argument? Is Glenn Beck’s faith really the only reason that this discussion/argument is taking place? If so, I think the “Evangelical Right” has descended into its own private little squabble over the faith and creed of Mormons vs. the faith and creed of mainstream Christianity. That’s sad, really.
Would those folks who are deign to support Beck put up the same resistance if Beck was a Buddhist or a Taoist or a sun God worshipper? Is this really just about his Mormon faith? If so, we’ve got a long way to go as American Conservatives since it appears that Christian spirituality is a club that only permits those who read the KJV of the Bible.
The Catholic Church does not. Even the baptism of LDS members is not considered valid by the Church, whereas it considers Christian baptism by the Episcopagans, Presbyterians, Methodists, et al to be valid.. The Church does not consider the LDS in any way shape or form to be valid Christians. Where is your lump now?
I said nothing about the Catholic church's acceptance of LDS as Christian. I said, "I lump Mormons under Christianity." You're assuming that I tow my church's line.
Then do you claim to be Catholic? Whatever the level of my smugness, what does that have to do with the LDS being considered Christian?
As a side note, may I have your opinion on the innovations of Vatican II?

Harry Ried is an ALLY? I don’t think so. Joseph Smith nor Brigham Young would be conservative allies in this day an age either. Don’t lump all Mormons into one group politically.
There is a group called “Mormons for Obama” as well.
Politically, Democrats are the enemy.
But theologically, Mormons are the enemy of Christ, no ifs ands or buts about it.
