She's appeared at Tea Party rallies across the country and long been considered the movement's de facto leader, but a new CNN poll out Friday suggests Sarah Palin isn't the group's clear favorite for the White House.

It may actually be true, especially with her endorsement of McNuts and other RINOs. but I still see her as the conservative front-runner in 2012. Just like the negative numbers for W from 2006-2008, there were a lot of conservatives who were unhappy that he had made a giant left turn. Of course, that little fact never gets reported by any of the MSM.
All I know is that I have written off anyone who could back the likes of McCain. If you can’t grasp the clarity of that, what can you grasp? This one isn’t even close.
If you’ll sell your soul to give the appearance you support what he does, you’re too soiled to gain my support.
Onward...
“This poll is meaningless page filler.”
The poll is snapshot of what might happen if the election were held today, that’s all. I’ve never heard a poll claiming to be anything more.
Is it the final word? No. Does it show a bearing? Yes.
The link you put up was a Boston Herald article commentig on the CNN poll.
If we can turn Congress it will help. If we get a veto proof majority, Obama is politically neutered.
When he struggles to overcome that, he’ll just look more and more shrill. It would be a pleasure to watch him destroy himself and everything he stands for during the process.
You are right there, a snapshot of how the media can manipulate numbers to create a story, as the previous posts have pointed out. Again, I don't even know if Palin would run, but remember that early on the media told us and polled that Rudy was our default candidate for the longest time.
Personally I think we may have no idea who is on the ticket come 2012 and we all may be surprised if we look into the future.
Even though I agree with everything you say, I still maintain that this particular poll is meaningless because it doesn’t measure a “real” snapshot. It doesn’t measure anything but a mid-summer wondering about someone who may or may not be running, reported on by an anti-conservative site.
Your mileage may vary.
” Right now Palin is just firing people up, however, when she comes up, there is a major negative reaction by those on the left. That causes supporters to react the opposite way and support her more (to the point of supporting her for the highest office in the land).”
Using that logic maybe we should be supporting Ann Coulter for Prez.
And a different title, due to the fact that Palin and Romney are virtually tied (margin of error 3%).
“You are right there, a snapshot of how the media can manipulate numbers to create a story, as the previous posts have pointed out.”
Then show us how they were manipulated. You’ve spen this entire thread claiming the CNN article doesn’t match the poll then quote the numbers for repubs in the poll when the comment in question referred only to TP members and supporters.
I looked at what was offered regarding the poll and couldn’t find where the TP numbers were broken out but the TP question was asked so those numbers should be available to the pollster and client.
Yu talking to me? I don’t see where I questioned you clarity, I understand it completely.
Why not?
Doesn’t mean she would win, but why not support someone who both represents your values and fights your opponents.
That, after all, is what primaries are for.
Fight for the person you want to win, then work with the deck of cards you are given after the primary sorts itself out.
That is how the game is played.
No, it was just an all-purpose mention of fact.
I was certain you agreed with it.
We didn’t have a misunderstanding, less it’s you not realizing this wasn’t meant for you personally.
Later...
I already did in several posts- CNN ignored almost every single line item in that poll, took one of the sample groups by age that, and misrepresented that data as reflecting an ideological group- even though the break down by ideology contradicts the story.
You could take that picking and choosing numbers from that report and say Palin has a strong lead, or heck, even Huckabee is winning depending on what you pick.
It was, however, highly misleading to take just a demographic line item of people 50 and over and spin it to say she has lost tea party support.
Well, it's obvious that the Tea Partiers are all a bunch of misogynistic RINOs!!!!!!
/typical Palemming
Agreed, unfotunately too many voters, including repubs, continue to look to the government to “solve their problems”.
Anyway, to me reducing the size of gubmint and lowering taxes in itself is a solution and we’re going to need politicians to do that for us.
Well, I do see one that appears to have exploed.
Personally, I don't think Palin's going to run. If that turns out to be the case, it won't have a thing to do with the bazillion anti-Palin posts we're going to have seen about her on FR. What an enormous waste of time.
After seeing Howard Dean's de facto endorsement of Newt Gingrich on Chris Wallace's show, it looks pretty clear that the DNC/MSM is going to pull out all the stops to choose Newt as our candidate, just as they chose McInsane for us. Sucks, don't it?
Pick several random cities in the midwest, south and southwest. Schedule several rallies, each featuring one of the three: Sarah, Mitt or Newt. Average the attendance of each candidate’s events.
I would bet dollars to donuts that Sarah’s appearances would double the attendance of the other two IF NOT MORE. And I would not be surprised to see her average higher than Mitt and Newt combined.
Newt and Mitt have no grassroots appeal outside their respective insulated bubbles. Mitt is DOA, not even a consideration based on his support of socialized medicine and the disaster that is Massachusetts. Newt? He hasn’t been relevant since 1994 and his embrace of “climate change” has further tainted what little appeal he might have had.
The TEA party is largely the result of people sick and tired of big government and career DC politicians acting like royalty. And there are some here that think Newt and Mitt, both big gov insider types, have any appeal to TEA party Conservatives!?
No more business as usual for the GOP. You are either with us, or part of the problem. We will shrink the government, lower taxes and repeal EVERYTHING Obama has passed. No more democrat-lite candidates who think Obamacare just needs to be tweaked a little. No more RINOs that think compromise means always going along with the Democrats.
I have said before, whether its Sarah or someone else, I don’t care, but it will not be business as usual anymore. The stakes are too high. People are losing jobs, not just because of the Obama/Dem economy, but because of Presidential decree! Where is the national GOP on the oil moratorium and the car dealer shut down? If Obama can kill the oil industry, why not coal or nonunion manufacturing? And eventually whatever business you own or that employs you.
Sarah seems to be one of only a few that are fighting for the rank and file. And that will be remembered in 2012.
“I dont think she could do more as president.”
How wrong you are! Eight years of Palin would go a long way toward righting the Ship of State which has been BADLY adrift since 1988. No one, and I mean NO ONE, on the current political scene (or even on the horizon) has the combination of courage and charisma that she has. That combination, in the hands of a committed conservative, is a locomotive of destruction for the secular-statist agenda.
“Let someone else do the dirty work and get politically soiled as president”
Like who? There is NO ONE else. She is not afraid of getting her hands dirty. Remember what she said when they told her that her resignation might be the end of her political career. She said, “If I die, I die.” That is a quote from the Book of Esther. Esther risked death in approaching King Xerxes (a capital offense) to save her people, the Jews, from the evil Haman. Sarah Palin is willing to risk as much to deliver her people from the modern day Haman.
And the “current Haman” is much more than just the current occupant of the White House. She means to smite the current corrupt, secular/anti-Constitutionalist system, hip and thigh.
Hey Bob...Sarah loves you anyway.
