FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (Illegal to grow your own food)

Posted on 08/07/2010 6:47:50 PM PDT by Scythian

This bill was considered in committee which has recommended it be considered by the Senate as a whole. Although it has been placed on a calendar of business, the order in which legislation is considered and voted on is determined by the majority party leadership. Keep in mind that sometimes the text of one bill is incorporated into another bill, and in those cases the original bill, as it would appear here, would seem to be abandoned.

Toddster’patriot’ is a free traitor. He has actively advocated for the economic destruction America is now suffering, in many years of posting.

There is a huge constituency who think the healthcare legislation will give them free healthcare and even that will probably be overturned.

Who is the big voting bloc in favor of making growing your own food illegal?

“Still think if it passes it’ll outlaw growing your own food?”

Which part of the previous discussion of corn pollination and GMO did you fail to understand?

Of course it will. If I continue to plant my corn seeds (saved for 40+ years in my family) after they’re pollinated by some asshole up the road (because I can’t, after all, control the wind) who plants GMO corn I will be breaking the law.

It’s RIAA, for food.

Exactly correct, on all points. Not only Google earth, but the sophistication to track all sorts of other goods. I learned a great lesson years ago in a college “History of Latin America” class.

In an area called Potosi, (Brazil, I think), the people were mining silver, but needed mercury in order to get the silver from the ore, and they new that so much mercury yielded so much silver. So when they knew they couldn’t track all of the silver, they started outrageously taxing the mercury, thereby getting what they wanted. They’ll tax fertilizer or water, or whatever they have too. And Google Earth is right.

Satellites are also capable of analyzing the scattering of light from different types of plant species (at least in areas of forest, I dunno how minute they get), and can differentiate the types of vegetation based on that. The ruling elite have all the doodads they need. Conservative, Freedom loving patriots need only one thing, however. Resolve. Get enough people together with resolve, and the cause of freedom, and they’ll endure pretty well through just about anything. THAT is what has made, and continues to make, America both Great and Beautiful, the land of opportunity. She’s just dormant, as her inhabitants have been for decades.

Which part of the previous discussion of corn pollination and GMO says you can't grow your own food?

If I continue to plant my corn seeds

How can you plant? This bill makes it illegal.

Last figures I heard at least 60% of Americans oppose 0bamaCare and more in other polls. Monsanto is the answer to your question.

Individual rights have given way to corporate ‘rights’. The government has been so corrupted by global corporations bribing and corrupting our Constitutional government that they will pass any legislation that promotes corporate welfare over individual rights. You can see the evidence when the legislators completely ignore their constituents as in the obamacare vote, and vote in law written by the industries exactly as they have worded the bills.

The food law will make globalism a more powerful force in our daily lives, and is a stepping stone to the enforcement of the EU model of communist style managed resources.

“The government has been so corrupted by global corporations bribing and corrupting our Constitutional government that they will pass any legislation that promotes corporate welfare over individual rights.”

Agreed. Like in Colorado, where it is illegal (FELONY!) to disparage the beef industry in that state, that might hurt their sales.

“How can you plant? This bill makes it illegal.”

Nobody owns guns in Chicago. That’s illegal. Nobody speeds, that’s illegal too.

Selective enforcement is the name of the game.

Revenuers didn’t put all the corn mash stills out of business either. Only the ones that didn’t cough up the protection fee.

“Which part of the previous discussion of corn pollination and GMO says you can’t grow your own food? “

The part that says you can’t plant ‘patented’ material without having paid the patent holder their duly collected fee. Regardless if their patented material arrived on your property via the wind or insects.

It will be illegal to plant my corn seeds saved from last year when this passes. I know for a fact there’s a farmer up the road that plants GMO stuff. My seeds have already been ‘tainted’ by his stuff. Not a damned thing I can do about it. However, it’s not illegal for me to replant those seeds. Yet.

After this bill it will be.

I will, at that point, be forced to buy new seeds.

Revenuers.

His math is the math of trillion dollar deficits and our trading of our domestic economy and ‘worthless paper’ money to China for all the great pieces of poisoned poorly made junk the ‘free traitors’ say we need to keep the global economy safe.
