First Signs of Civil War begin in the US: Sheriff Tony DeMeo Threatens Force Against Federal Agents

It began with one Sheriff speaking with other Sheriffs about their oaths to uphold the constitution. A new movement is growing in this country in support of limited government, constitutional principles, states rights and a stronger role for sheriffs to play against federal abuse of power. In this 3-part video interview with Tony DeMeo, Sheriff of Nye County, Nevada, he explains that he is a Constitutional Sheriff and that authority for public office holders is derived from the people:

SNIP

In his own words Sheriff Tony DeMeo describes an incident where federal agents of the BLM threaten him with arrest while the Sheriff issues his own threats of an armed response if illegal seizures of private property in his county continue. Imagine if BLM authorities went ahead with their “normal” operations of seizing cattle found on public property in direct opposition to Sheriff Tony DeMeo warnings? We would witness a standoff with dire consequences.

I have a lot of admiration for someone who measures their words as carefully as you do. Some of us have, like you and I, have been on FR for more than a decade. I feel the last thing we need as FReepers is a bunch of hotheads publicly and prematurely advocating a level of violence that is not only uncalled for but which is forbidden for damn good reasons by FR Terms of Service.

What the heck is going on? We both had a number of posts pulled that had no suggestions of violence in them at all. One had this sole line...

"Clever way to say you have run out of thoughts on the subject."

Is that over the top? Were your posts over the top? There is some pretty ridiculous moderation going on around here.

Suppose instead that so-called ‘white right-wing extremists’, i.e., Glenn Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, Palin etc., were suddenly ‘deemed’ to be (as Obama has the power to define) domestic threats/terrorists and, without due process, were indefinitely detained or assassinated? What might happen then?

What flavor revolution will we have?

If it ever does happen, consideration towards killing the disease of socialism within the states forever should be considered.

“If it ever does happen, consideration towards killing the disease of socialism within the states forever should be considered. “

Agreed. I would support some Constitutional amendments that ensured States powers, and that those, too, be enumerated. This would take quite a bit of thought, of course.

One thing I do NOT support in my lifetime is a Constitutional Convention. There are too many ways for such an assemblage to be corrupted and the entire Republic railroaded into the pits of hell.

I totally agree about the idea of a Constitutional Convention. Amending the Constitution is purposefully extremely hard to do (unless you’re an activist judge). It needs to stay that way.

If you are only going to ask the question so you can flag it to the Mods, then you are little more than a coward.

Speaking certain truths these days is necessary. You do us no favors by playing these silly games.

It’s a violation of FR policy to not advocate for overthrow of the government. If you don’t like it you can take it up with Jim.

And you are just a brave POS to advocate for it behind your screen name.

Jim himself has rattled his saber at the current regime. Will you now advocate against him, the CWII list, the bang list, and everyone participating for anything less than I stated?

You obviously have some kind of a personal issue here. Maybe you should step back, have a cup of coffee, and go do something else for a bit.

What have the Democrats done to our Constitution?

They're ignoring it and hoping that we don't notice. In for a surprise, they are. </yoda>

Look at my home page. Click on the A&M link. Contact me. I'm the MN PoC and I am right here in the open.

Who's the "coward"? You get the Mods to help you with fights you start. I'm posting my thoughts out here for all to see.

You are making this awfully personal.

An accurate description of your behavior is not "calling you names". I also posted the same sentiments here in open forum.

You ask leading questions for the express purpose of having them "edited".

Who is more duplicitous?
