Evening Sandy, hugs.
My family are proud to have three generations of Purple Heart recipients: My father (WWII), myself (Vietnam), and my nephew (Iraq). Fortunately, we all lived to wear it and I think that I can speak for the three of us when I say that we are all humbled to have had the opportunity to serve our country, continuing a family tradition that dates back to the French and Indian Wars.
Hi CANTEEN! My friends! I love the canteen!
Ya’ll friggin rock
Great thread! What a beautiful image. That must have taken some time to create! LOL!
Better day.
Storm last night brought the temp down about 20 degrees and the humidity up by about as much.
Still working short but it’s a cake walk compared to yesterday.
Never look a gift horse in the mouth. LOL!
I’m still trying to game the FR clock. I know for sure that it is 5 minutes fast with the Official US Clock....tonight I tried :54:20 .... a tad early, but not much.
You got your Purple Heart the hard way!!
Another PH recipient came home to Mt. Juliet, TN today. SPC Michael Stansbury, who joined the Army in 2007 right after high school, was killed by an IED in the Kandahar province in Afghanistan on July 30.
Cars began to line up along the main road into Mt Juliet at 7:30 am. The local police, sheriff’s deputies, and state troopers went to the airport to escort SPC Stansbury home for the last time. My wife had dropped my daughter off at school and waited along the road also. At approximately 9:35 a.m. the precession passed by as people who love this country stopped everywhere and paid their respects to a young hero.
My grandaddy (wwI) His brother, (wwII) my uncles ( 3 in viet nam, 2 came home, many many awards), my mom (VN) and 3 of my cousins (2 in GW1, one in GW2)are purple heart wearers.
Yes, my momma wore combat boots. Big insult when I was a kid, but I was and will always be proud of both my parents service.
Did I tell ya about juicy Yakima peaches?..:=)
Thanks again for the FReepmail, I'll absorb it and get back witcha!!
Sorry I posted and ran but had to take care of something! Great idea for tonight! *hugs*
Sorry, hon, I missed yesterdays thread, but if I recall, aug 4th is the USCG birthday.
Did y’all do it up right?
Good evening, Sir Conor! Nice to see you! Hope your day was a good one! *hugs*
It was done! Thanks for the reminder though. Kathy is on top
of this stuff! LOL!
