Heartbreaking. My prayers for his family.
?
There is more here than meets the eye. They are hiding something. My guess is the Taliban rule of engagement differs from ours, and their treatment of prisoners doesn’t mean an air condition cell, 3 meals and a bible. Its the SOS we had to put up with in RVN, we are letting the politicians, (as worthless as they are) to fight the war for the GIs. Its time for the DC elite to go, wake up America!
RIP , prayers for family and friends.
Yep, agree that “there is more here than meets the eye”. In “my eye” the two most probable scenarios are 1. These two navy guys who were several hundred miles inland were Seals who were out perhaps gathering information and got caught. 2. These two guys who had most surely been thoroughly briefed on the dangers of leaving base by themselves were out and about - let's just say they were “boys being boys” or perhaps “their little heads were thinking for their big heads”. Don't know, just hypothesizing. At any rate, my condolences to their loved ones, family and friends.
Until otherwise proved, I am sticking with the conclusion these fine Americans were lost as a direct result of the ill defined mission and chaotic command and control from the CIC. To be taken this way, seemingly without a chance to use the skills and tools they were trained to use, is a dirty, dark shame that Obama must wear.
The condition of the body of the Navy man just discovered will never be disclosed.
In that part of the world, dead also means badly mutilated.
I think you just defined the entire war completely. Except it would not be CIC it would be TOC. But yes, chaos and ill defined missions I would agree with.
Once again we have to come to terms about who we are dealing with. All wars including Viet Nam, we did carpet bombing and S&D missions. We used incendiaries or what ever we had to kill the enemy.
The current mission orders are to ‘make friends’ with them. Bring them over to our side with niceness and money.
Of course this a big joke to the Arabs who laugh it up every time they get money or supplies from us.
The only ones supporting this crap are the lovey dovey hippies in Washington.
Everything pronounced "barak" is hazardous to America
“I doubt your first scenario. SEALS or any SpecOps that far away from support do not drive into Indian Country with a large US military vehicle(s) and in full uniform. They insert themselves as locals and do everything they can to appear as tribesman.”
Yeah, agree about my first scenerio. Actually, I listed it merely so to not appear insensitive by going straight to the most probable, that being the second scenerio. Can’t speak to 1969 Vietnam but I can speak to 1965-1966 Vietnam.
The Taliban and Al Quaeda get to kill and mutilate Americans, Brits, Austrailians and Candadians and we are not allowed to fight back. Shameful. Prayers for their grieving families.
Rest in peace, shipmate.
Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. I pray that God will grant the hearts of your family and loved ones peace and serenity, knowing that you are now home with Him.
This is very sad.
Hey, guys! I’m not that up on acronyms, so would you please spell them out - sure would make it easier to understand what you’re talking about. Thanks much.
You've never been in the Navy, have you??
If you don't know what you're talking about, please don't make insulting, ignorant comments. These men are dead and you're going to impugn their character!!??
There's at least one Gurkha who's taking a stab at it :-)
If I was about to be captured by those taliban butchers Fiddler’s Green would be the last thing running though my mind when I pulled the trigger.
I repeat, these heros that die in Afghanistan are being sacrificed by the government is an ill-concieved and executed adventure that they have utterly no intention of winning.
In short, these brave men are dying for absolutely nothing. This is the muslim version of Vietnam, albiet on a much smaller scale, at least so far. This thing could never be on the same scale as Vietnam because our military is just so much smaller now.
In 10 years, nothing will have changed in Afghanistan except for more American blood and treasure flushed down the crapper.
What at waste. Very sad.
