Hoping to lift sagging confidence in President Barack Obama's economic leadership, the White House will make the case on Wednesday that his policies are creating jobs and spurring private investment.
A report to be unveiled at 11 a.m. EDT will estimate that Obama's $862 billion economic stimulus package, which passed last year, has saved or created 3 million jobs and is on track to meet its goal of 3.5 million jobs by the end of this year.
The analysis from the White House Council of Economic Advisers will say that government funding of clean energy, economic development, construction projects and other initiatives is spurring "co-investment" by private-sector firms, according to a U.S. official who previewed the report.

Hey Barry - how many jobs are gonna be ‘saved’ once you let the Bush tax cuts expire?
Care to answer that one?

I don't remember any other administration ever counting “jobs saved” as a statistic. This is a load of BS.

It doesnt matter if its true or not. The media will keep repeating it until millions believe it.
I work with a woman who takes whatever CBS, NBC and ABC says in their newscasts as gospel. I guess because they're on the air and the anchor says it with such authority, why, it MUST be true!
Oh, and I'll give you one guess as to who she voted for in the last Presidential election (hint: it wasn't McCain.)

This was inevitable spin as soon as the stimulus package was going to “save OR create” jobs. I’m surprised this hasn’t been touted sooner.

Imagine, a few years from now, having “author of WH report showing stimulus saved 3 MM jobs” on your resume.

Conservative pundits should counter with: “Oh yeah, well the invasion of Iraq saved 3 Million American lives!!!”
Then watch the libtards’ heads explode when they realize they just stepped into the paradox of pre-emption.

The Goverment thinks we are all idiots.
If the unemployment rate is the same now as it was then and you include the thousands that simply dropped out of the system because it UIC ran out then it is not possible that any jobs were created and unlikely that any jobs were saved. But don’t worry many sheep will buy the Goverments bullshit.

Another phony report, just like the CBO scores on Obama-care. Reminds me of Orwell's 1984,

Oh yes, this is just Obama trying to save us from Bush, who is still with us to this day, thrashing our economy with his terrible taxcuts.
No doubt when they expire and more jobs are lost, Obama will find a way to toss that upon the previous administration, as well.

When you give a drunk $20, how many jobs do you save?
The drunk’s employment status doesn’t necessarily change, be it employed or not.
The liquor store clerk’s employment status doesn’t change, but his position is sustained in some small part.
The Obama administration takes credit for both as “jobs saved”.........
Is this the American Government YOU want?

I think I saw an article somewhere that touted, "Jobs Advertised" as if that were something to be counted. WTF? Boldly going waaaay beyond "jobs saved or created"
