NAVARRE, Fla. -- British Petroleum says its latest fix is working to stop the oil leak, but it doesn't look like it. More oil is spewing out and more tar balls are washing ashore on Florida beaches. Now, people are frustrated crews are standing around instead of cleaning them up.
Crews are working for only five minutes at a time to clean up the tar balls, because it's so hot to work on the beach. They have to follow federal rules and take lots of breaks.

But this is also a classic example of how the larger progressive media lumps all the blame upon their preferred enemy and completely discounts the role of federal regulations in doing great damage to our lives.
why prevent a clean up???
Featherbedding.................
What the hell kind of sentence is this? What does this mean?
...it’s Obamagoo, so he decides who and when it gets cleaned up
I suggest starting at 4 PM and working until dark. And from daybreak to 9 am.
It’s called a “disjointed “ sentence. The pronoun “them” is separated from its antecedent.............
Michelle Obama says everything is just fine and dandy.
Rows of people, rows of clear plastic bags filled with so little....where are they putting this debree???
Why don’t they use tractors pulling screens to scoop it up?
What a waste of people & plastic!!!!

The sentence could be better separated. Here:
Now, people are frustrated _because_ crews are standing around instead of cleaning them up.
Living 100 miles north of Panama City Beach, I’ve spoken with several folks who are involved with the beach clean-up crews. Because of the heat (and fed regs), they work 15 minutes and break for 45. It is basically the same temperature here as down there. Both my husband and son work outdoors all day, on asphalt and roofs respectively. Their 30 minute lunch breaks are their only breaks; however, they do stop intermittently to drink copious amounts water.
fl bump
I used to work haz waste as an EPA contractor in the SE region. We had these same regulations. We also ignored them because we had a job to do and it could not be done like that.
Why is it that these BP cleanup folks have to wear body suits but my mechanic under my (old and leaky) car does not?
the water probably qualifies as toxic waste.....under FEDERAL regulations
You don’t see Michelle and her kiddies going down there to splash in the surf, do you?
This is obviously stupid, but what is worse is that not much is being done to clean the gulf BEFORE the oil gets to the beach! Picking up tar balls with kitty litter scoopers is a JOKE!
It isn’t really even that hot on Navarre Beach, but you do need sun screem. If they want hot, they should try Louisiana.
*screen.
PROBLEM SOLVED:
Just offer to pay $100 per 55 gallon barrel for all oil skimmed from the water or picked up from the beach.
Then stand back and get out of the way.
The amount of crude oil and tarballs recovered would skyrocket and the cost per unit would plummet.
