NAACP Considers Resolution Decrying Racist Elements in Tea-Party Movement
The Kansas City Star ^ | Monday, July 12, 2010 | Judy L. Thomas

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will propose a resolution this week condemning racism within the tea party movement.

The resolution, scheduled for a vote as early as Tuesday by delegates attending the annual NAACP convention in Kansas City, calls upon “all people of good will to repudiate the racism of the Tea Parties, and to stand in opposition to its drive to push our country back to the pre-civil rights era.”

NAACP leaders said the resolution was necessary to make people aware of what they believe is a racist element within the tea party movement.

Among the charges lodged against the tea party in the resolution:

•Tea party supporters have engaged in “explicitly racist behavior” and “displayed signs and posters intended to degrade people of color generally and President Barack Obama specifically.”

•Tea party activists have used racial epithets, have verbally and physically abused black members of Congress and others, and have been charged with threatening public officials.

Tea party supporters also have a distorted view of race relations, the resolution says, citing poll data that found that 25 percent believe that the Obama administration’s policies favor blacks over whites, and 52 percent believe that “too much” has been made of the problems facing black people, compared with 28 percent of the general population.

thats OK because I will gladly issue a resolution right now condemning racism within the NAACP and the black community in general who still approve of Obama with 90%+ numbers solely because of his skin color.

Which ‘news reporter’ asked a Black at a Tea Party gathering about his comfort level without his own ‘people’? I believe he answered, ‘these are my people....we are Americans’. (paraphrased)

“they were around when MLK was. I don’t think he denounced them. In fact, I think he worked with them.”

He did work with them, from what I understand. But then, it was a very different organization at the time. Legitimate, as opposed to the illegitimate faction it has become now. Even that which begins as a boon can be corrupted.

It must be hard to go through life with those racist blinders on. Everywhere the NAACP looks they see racism.

OH NO I see a group of white people meeting in the park. RACISTS!!

Sorry you racist morons, it's called a family reunion.

Then they try to recycle those false claims about Tea Partiers using racial epithets.

Face it NAACP, the vast majority of white people are so scared of being called racist that they no longer use those sorts of words. Hell, we are still trying to figure out what this week's preferred way of referring to someone with darker skin is. (Black?, colored?, African-American (But what if they are asian?)?, or should we do what the inner city folks do and say niggers?)

Amazingly most non-racial minority people are pretty much color blind. We don't care what they look like as long as they behave appropriately. The problem is that between welfare, affirmative action, Jesse Jackson etc, more and more of us are coming to the opinion that the racial minority youth do not have a clue on how to act appropriately

The NAACP et al, by their actions, are converting more and more racial majority people into "racists".

Come on NAACP, please prove that the racists are not correct about you.

Very much like unions - needed when they started, evolved into something very malignant for society.

The NAACP is concerned by the “Racism” of some Tea Party members. Question: Why have I NOT heard a word from the NCAA expressing their horror over the BLACK on BLACK holocaust in our major cities, or the slaughter of BLACK babies in aborturaries in those cities. I hear nothing in protest of the obscenely costly public schools that turn out another generation of illiterate, unemployable black youngsters. I hear nothing from the NCAA of an effort to deal with the social disaster of children being raised in a society comprised of a single mother, whose children each has a different father, if HE is even anywhere in sight.
If the NCAA is today’s “FRIEND” of the black people, they have no need for additional enemies.

I’m amazed that the African American community would support slavery. Is the NAACP an ‘overseer’?
There was a time that the cry was for “Freedom”.

“Screaming ‘racist’ is the only card left for the Democrats to play for the Black community because their promises of a better economy under Obama have been proven to be lies.”

So true.

This is because the TEA partiers actually follow the news and are hence aware of what (for example) the egregious holder-creature has done to the DOJ, which is supposed to protect the civil liberties of ALL Americans, including white American citizens. The sheeple are blissfully unaware of the various outrages perpetrated by the Obama Regime, which are ignored by the MSM.

The resolution would almost be funny, if it wasn’t based on outright lies.

NAACP should go further. They should pass a resolution that all who do not bow down and worship Obama are racists.
