CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is introducing what the city says is the most comprehensive gun ordinance in the United States.

Wonder if Obama will compare this to the states’ “patchwork of laws” instead of a comprehensive national law that is already included in the constitution.

I can’t imagine a sane person voting for this SOB, and yet he is reelected seemingly for life. No wonder he is afraid of guns, all thugs are...

Apparently, the entire part.

He's telling the public, "make me [obey the constitution]."

"... prohibit guns from anywhere except inside the owner's home."

And it gets from the gun shop to your house by ...

... teleportation?

It will be interesting to see how they treat anyone using a gun for legitimate self defense at home. Daley is lower than worm snot, he will take his defeat out on anyone he can.

Says the man surrounded by armed guards 24/7.

It's OK for him, but not the peasants.

I sure hope this will also be challenged in court. How can people legally obtain a firearm if it is against city ordinance to transport it home from a gun store? Seems like Daly is backing gun “amnesty” for existing illegal guns within city limits. I hope Daly chokes on it- that is infringing on 2nd amendment rights.

I wonder if SCOTUS can find him in contempt of court.

If guns are banned ,except for the home, look for the corrupt ChiPD to stake out out of town gun dealers and arrest gun buyers when they cross into the city.Since the guns will be in the car or on their person they will be in violation of this ordinance. The Dems are clever when trying to erode your rights.

And here is the problem with the "Heller Restrictions" language that is in the McDonald opinion. We don't know exactly how far these restrictions go. While Justice Alito did a good job in laying out that the right that is protected is one of Self Defense, the opinion never did explain what level of scrutiny will be applied.

The liberals on the Courts are going to seize on the restrictions language and basically work to narrow the 2nd Amendment right as much as possible, thus it is very possible that the Courts can try to narrow the right down to nothing more than keeping a gun in your house. If just one of the 5 center-right justices on the Supreme Court leaves in the next couple of years, I can guarantee this result.

Liberty hangs on a thread.

I looked, and the Constitution does not say "right to bear arms in your home only"...it means in America.

Daily is hoping his home boy obama will protect him in his gun-grabbing plans...but then, so did blago.

Leftists dominate in all U.S. cities, and they have for many decades and counting! Even most of the GOP, from within all U.S. cities, are RINOS. If the EC is ever officially eliminated, then it really will be the leftists who will choose each and every future POTUS, and all U.S. cities will play a major part in this! Conservatives must seriously find ways of finally ending the leftist dominance of all U.S. cities!

This REALLY needs to be restated. You must mean MAJOR U.S. cities.
