SNIPPET: "The Turkish group IHH announced Wednesday that it will send another flotilla to Gaza comprised of six ships during the second half of July. On the same day, Israel added IHH to its terrorist watch list."
SNIPPET: "An IHH press conference was held at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, organized by Richard Howitt, a British member of the Parliament. During the conference, Howitt encouraged the EU to back the new flotilla initiative, stating:
"If this terrible (May 31) tragedy tips the balance so that the international community finally insists on full and unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza, then some good can still come out of it. But only one reason should stop this new convoy from safely arriving in Gaza and that's an end to the blockade itself."
Also in attendance was Mazen Kahel, spokesperson for The European Campaign to End the Siege on Gaza (ECESG), a radical, UK-based organization and one of the organizers of the "Freedom Flotilla."
Kahel announced that ECESG is planning "Freedom Flotilla 2."
"We have six boats which are ready to leave Europe, [and] we are hoping to head off next month, in the last half of July," he said.
Also participating in ECESG's second flotilla is the Free Gaza Movement (FGM), which lead the May flotilla along with IHH. Following the May 31st Mavi Marmara incident, FGM stated that it was "proud" and "honored" to have worked with IHH, and declared on its website that "We Are All IHH."
It is unclear whether ECESG and IHH are jointly planning the July convoy."

Iran Revolutionary Guards ready to escort Gaza ships

Iran Revolutionary Guards ready to escort Gaza ships 06 Jun 2010 12:40:35 GMT Source: Reuters TEHRAN, June 6 (Reuters) - Irans elite Revolutionary Guards are ready to provide a military escort to cargo ships trying to break Israels blockade of Gaza, a representative of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Sunday.
Irans navy forces are ready to escort the peace flotilla to Gaza with all their powers and capabilities, Ali Shirazi, Khameneis representative inside the Revolutionary Guards, was quoted as saying by the semi-official Mehr news agency.
Any intervention by the Iranian military would be considered highly provocative by Israel which accuses Iran of supplying weapons to Hamas, the Islamist movement which rules Gaza.
The Guards, with their own navy, air force and command structure separate from the regular armed forces, are seen as fiercely loyal to the values of the Islamic Republic.
If the Supreme Leader issues an order for this then the Revolutionary Guard naval forces will do their best to secure the ships, Shirazi said. It is Irans duty to defend the innocent people of Gaza.

Inflaming Emotions aboard the Mavi Marmara
before the Confrontation with the IDF
(Video File No. 2)
SNIPPET: 1. During the voyage the passengers of the Mavi Marmara, especially the hard core of IHH operatives, were indoctrinated by senior figures such as IHH head Bülent Yildirim and Israeli-Arab sheikh Raed Salah, a radical Islamist. A number of hours before the IDF took control of the ship, in addition to organizing and preparing weapons, the operatives on the upper deck shouted battle cries to incite those who were expected to take part in the premeditated violent confrontation with the IDF.

Thank you Sunken Civ for pinging your list.
Wake up, you moron.
They aren't "walking back" anywhere. Your "turkish contacts" just stuck a knife in your back, f'r godsake.
If these guys are smart, there won’t be a single weapon or terrorist on these boats. Nothing but a bunch of peaceful humanitarians, humanitarian supplies, maybe some nuns, and a few orphans.
Be a shame if their boat(s) should suffer a mischief in the Red Sea or the Gulf of Suez.
Problem is that Israel only has 5 subs. They need to keep at least a couple in the Med, and one or two in the general vicinity of Iran, (Arabian Sea/Gulf of Oman) doesn't leave much for the Red Sea. Of course they do have other anti-ship platforms, aircraft and missle boats for example.
The IDF guys looked pretty wimpy, flabby. Decent down the ropes was slow.
Didn’t seem like the first squad.
I don’t think next time the IDF will send in any old crew.
I understand your concerns.
Looking back:

EGYPT ARRESTS TERRORIST CELL OF 25 MEMBERS

09 July 2009 EGYPT ARRESTS TERRORIST CELL OF 25 MEMBERS CAIRO, July 9 (Xinhua)
The Egyptian authorities have arrested a terrorist cell of 25 members, 24 Egyptians and one Palestinian, for plotting to carry out terrorist attacks in Suez Canal, Egyptian Interior Ministry said in statement issued on Thursday.
According to the statement, the members of the cell who believe in Jihad (Holy War) were located in Cairo, Alexandria and Daqahlia governorates and communicated through internet with other terrorist groups outside Egypt.
The cell’s members, mostly engineers, were developing high-tech and electronic devices like mobile phones to carry out terrorist attacks against vital targets in Egypt such as Suez Canal and oil pipelines, the statement said.
They confessed of plotting to carry out car bombing and that they received money from foreign sources to fund their activities.
The cell is led by an Egyptian man called Ahmed El-Sayyed El-Sharawy, who lives in El-Marg neighborhood in northern Great Cairo.
The police seized some books calling for Jihad, a laser printer used to forge money and a gun used in killing an owner of a jewelry shop in May 2008.
And speaking of just such Egyptians, has anyone seen Layth al-Islam lately?

Israeli warships rehearse for Iran attack in Red Sea
The Telegraph ^ | 7/16/2009 | Foreign Staff

Israeli and Egyptian officials said two ships had sailed through the Suez Canal into the Red Sea.
Media reports in Israel said the two Saar-class missile ships had been sent as a “message” to the Tehran government, which has repeatedly issued threats against Israel and is developing nuclear technology believed by the West to be intended for atomic weapons programme.
While Iran denies this, saying its enrichment of uranium is for civlian purposes only, so that it can generate electricity.
Israel has also deployed a submarine using the Suez Canal, but it has since returned to the Mediterranean.
Defence experts in Israel said this week that the naval activity had been publicised with the intent of sending a message to Iran.
The Israeli government has reserved the right to carry out a first strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities if the country continues to defy the international community and spreads instability in the Middle East.
Israel also accuses Iran of sponsoring the Hizbollah movement in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.

Can we all have unfettered access to the Turkish coast line? I rather doubt that they would allow that.

JANUARY 2010 : (EGYPT : WEATHER UNDERGROUND TERRORISTS BILL AYERS & BERNADINE DOHRN ARE SPOTTED IN EGYPT ----see CODE PINK FOUNDER/OBAMA FUNDRAISER JODIE EVANS, FREE GAZA MOVEMENT [FGM], GAZA FLOTILLA, HAMAS) Former Weather Underground leaders William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, as well as Code Pink founder Jodie Evans, helped organize the Free Gaza Movement, which launched the six-ship flotilla from Turkey to Israel that ended in a violent clash with Israeli Defense Forces, BigGovernment.com reported.
In January, the trio were spotted in Egypt attempting to stir up crowds on the streets with 1,400 other left-wing activists after the Egyptian government refused to allow Free Gaza Movement members to enter the Gaza Strip. About 100 marchers were eventually allowed to cross the border, where they were met by former Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh.
BigGovernment quotes author Philip Weiss, who wrote that he witnessed Ayers and Dohrn arguing with fellow activists over whether to accept Egypt's offer to allow a small number of them into Gaza:
"Dohrn said that the principle of All or none' was a miserable one for activist politics. You always took what you could get and kept fighting for more. A European man in a red keffiyeh screamed at her that she was serving the fascisti. Her partner Bill Ayers gently confronted him and asked him why he was so out of control. Between getting on and off the bus, Dohrn, who wore a flower in her hair, said that she didn't like the absolutist certainty of the people on the other side of the police barricades, and having been in the Weather Underground, she knew something about absolutist feeling."As political theater, an argument between the aging flower child/domestic terrorist and a fellow traveler over who knew more about "absolutist feelings" would be hard to top.(Excerpt) Read more at americanthinker.com ...------- "Ayers, Dorhn helped organize 'peace' flotilla," American Thinker ^ | 6/3/10 | Rick Moran Posted on Thursday, June 03, 2010 5:02:58 PM by Wilderness Conservative
The sub-headline over the article says it all: “The investigation into a cop killing in the ‘70s leads to a law professor who helped launch Barack Obama’s political career.” The law professor is former Communist terrorist Bernardine Dohrn, a leader of the Weather Underground known for praising mass murderer Charles Manson.
