SEATTLE -- Seattle police are investigating what they call an assault of an officer in South Seattle. However, a police officer is seen punching a 17-year-old girl in the face during the incident captured by a video camera on Monday.
According to Seattle police, the incident began when an officer spotted a man jaywalking in the 3100 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Way S. at approximately 3:10 p.m. The man was some 15 feet away from a pedestrian overpass, police said.

If you look at the comment section at the story, at www.komonews.com you will see that at least 90% of the comments support the police officer. There are over 600 comments so far. The area where the comments come from, are hardly a bastion of conservative thought.
The court of public opinion, is STRONGLY supporting the police officer.

wow....i am stunned...let me recap..you agree with me on most of my posts, but say i am not a christian because i expect perfection... well as a christian, i am neither perfect nor all knowing...but as an american, i know both the constitution and the federalist papers, the writings on which the constitution were written... i admit i have bashed bush on numerous occasions...i have also praised him on his many accomplishments(if you really read my posts you would know this)doing the right thing on one front while totally blowing it on another front does not mean you get no critisism...the only president to accomplish this since the turn of the century was Reagan...and even he had his faults...to disagree and disceminate on this site is the reason this site was created..to lurk and attempt to persuade others to the socialist side is to be a troll...I have labeled you a troll, and may in fact be incorrect..if you wish to have a conversation on principals, you can freeepmail me and we will have such a civilized conversation...if not, then my original judgement stands

He wasn’t attacked, and my point was, most cops don’t bother with jaywalking laws, they are among the laws passed merely to enhance revenue and for leverage in being able to harass people. There is no way a reasonable person would claim this officer was attacked. Anyone, including you, who thinks so has sh** for brains.

You need to find the unedited video. He was attacked. Was surrounded by a hostile crowd that was egging the girls on. The street is a very high traffic area, and the city installed a pedestrian walkway over the street, right where these “girls” were jaywalking. The girl was also bigger than the cop. Go back to the link and read a few of the many comments. They explain everything that KOMO left out of their sensationalist “news” story.
