He acted legally...he also he acted stupidly...the negative PR generated far outwieghs a jaywalking ticket.
SPD has enought to worry about...thei is exactly the kind of thing race huckters dream about...a white cop punching a black teen in the face...it wont matter why...
If you look at the comment section at the story, at www.komonews.com you will see that at least 90% of the comments support the police officer. There are over 600 comments so far. The area where the comments come from, are hardly a bastion of conservative thought.
The court of public opinion, is STRONGLY supporting the police officer.
