Joran van der Sloot has been charged with murder in the slaying of 21-year-old Stephany Flores.
Peruvian judge Juan Buendia has ordered van der Sloot jailed on murder and robbery charges, and described van der Sloot as having acted with "ferocity and great cruelty."
Police say van der Sloot smashed in the face of Lima business student Stephany Flores, whom he met playing poker at a casino, after taking her to his hotel room on May 30. They say he then strangled her, threw her to the floor and emptied her wallet.
Buendia issued the order before dawn Friday, instructing penal authorities to place the Dutchman in a penitentiary pending trial.

Even if the Dutch authorities sweeten the pot with favorable trade or simply a cash bailout offered to Peru? He seems to be somewhat of a hero to the Dutch even now.

Joran is going to get an up close and personal look at the “Peruvian Special”. If he's still alive he won't be doing much walking.

I hope that’s true. Save the Peruvian taxpayers from having to pay this vile creature’s room and board and trial expenses.
And authorities should ignore his new claims to be able to tell them the location of Holloway’s body, unless they’re prepared to shoot him on the spot if it isn’t where he says it is. He already played that sick game once before, and a lot of other sick games. If he’d been locked up for lying to investigators and lying to the media in an attempt to derail the investigation, he wouldn’t have been in a position to murder Flores (or the other young women that are now thought to have possibly been murdered by him).

I am no expert myself, but as some of my Peruvian friends tell me he is not in Aruba anymore. I think they may know what goes on there as they are some kind of ex government people and say Peru will hold on to him no matter what, In other wordś Peru don give a flip what the rest of the world thinks. Soundś good to me.

That’s good news, was afraid Peru may have a provision allowing extradition for crimes committed previously.

I saw a “Locked Up Abroad” episode of a prison in Lima, Peru. Van Der Sloot’s comfort level just plummeted..

So the Van Der Sloot defense strategy is to give him as much press as possible in order to insure he doesn't get injured in jail prior to his sentencing.
Let's see if the Peruvians give a crap about the celebrity status Joran is enjoying.
