Obama and the Trouble With Voting 'Present' (Karl Rove)

Even now, Mr. Obama looks like a spectator, albeit an angry one, barking at White House aides to "plug the damn hole" (now that's a good idea no one has thought of) and telling NBC's Matt Lauer he's in search of an "ass to kick."
But the main political behind that's being kicked is Mr. Obama's. The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll says Americans give the federal government a 69% negative rating for its handling of the spill, compared to a 62% negative rating for Washington's handling of Katrina in August 2005.
This pattern of being merely present has been apparent almost since the first days of the Obama presidency. He may unveil his mighty teleprompter to help pass what Congress has drafted, but this White House seems strangely disconnected from crafting legislation.

"The country has had another president both weak and radical at the same time: Jimmy Carter."
Can you say "hapless", children?

When Obama shifts into “street” language, he reminds me of those opera singers who try to sing pop music.

The (D) presidents are so hung up on themselves that they cannot function. They seem to rely on the “power of their presence” to make the seas calm..................

The comparison with Jimmah Cahtah seems amusing now, but I think of all the harm Carter has caused since leaving office. Only imagine what kind of trouble the current occupant of the WH can cause when he falls in with his international muslim friends. He is younger than Carter was when he left the WH. This nightmare could be with us for a long, long time.

Interesting that Rove only refers to him as “Mr Obama” and NOT “president”.

Obama is so utterly clueless, he’s making Jimmy Carter look like John Wayne.

The sad reality of the matter is that 0bama doesn’t know the difference between the a$$ he wants to kick and BP’s hole in the ground.

Carter rehabilitated his image by building Houses for Humanity. Can you imagine Obama resorting to manual labor for any reason?
To: chickadee
So true! Funny thing is how hard he worked to establish his street cred - it just doesn’t compute.

Excellent point. After all, what BHO is really good at is agitating. After all, his core competency is community organizer. Now consider the trouble community organizers like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson stir up.
BHO will be like Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson on steroids. BHO will make Carter look like an amateur America hater.

Mr. Obama is an odd mixture of passivity and radicalism. He's happy to be a cheerleader for policies (like nationalizing health care) that many Americans find dangerously liberal. Odd isn't the word for it.

I think he is just a lazy narcissistic magalomaniac. He enjoys the preening/posing, but shuns the heavy lifting of high office.

The problem is, by and large most Americans are not "radicals" and do not support "radicalism"...at least in the socialist/communist sense.
Not all of us make it, but most of us cherish the guarantee of the PURSUIT of happiness; but way too many confuse "happiness" with "prosperity".
These radicals - not unlike Jim Jones and his commune - usually only have support of their "believers", but eventually the flock learns more about their "shepard", and want no part of him.
The kenyan's commune - i.e. unions, mainstream media, and other assorted chia pets - will eventually be asked to take a sip of the "kool-aid", as king $#!+ would rather see them destroyed, than disloyal.
Socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried, and if the people tolerate it long enough the powers that be will amass enough power to keep them imprisoned (E. Germany, Cuba, etc) in order to retain a "kingdom".
There is no "right way" to run socialism, for it requires the extortion of, and spending of, other people's money...while at the same time ideologically destroying the "other peoples'" method of earning that money.
They are adolescents to depend on their "allowance" to get by, until the parents are tapped out, and then they kill them to get the house.
Take my word for it, Americans don't know how to NOT BE free...so obamaism will never work for very long.
