Israel must send Turkey a clear message that if Turkish warships are sent to accompany the next flotilla trying to break the embargo on Gaza, these will be considered acts of war by Israel , Uzi Dayan, former deputy Chief of General Staff, told Army Radio Monday morning.
"If the Turkish prime minister joins such a flotilla, Dayan said, we should make clear beforehand this would be an act of war, and we would not try to take over the ship he was on, but would sink it.
If Israel doesn't make this clear beforehand, the Turks will grow increasingly self-assured, and we may indeed find ourselves facing such a scenario, which could have been averted.
Uzi Dayan attacked a letter sent by Navy veterans calling for a commission of inquiry as confused and irresponsible.
I think you’re right! Israel don’t play and will do what they say.
That would be something - the Turkish military takes over the Turkish government to avert a war. In this case the military would be acting in its own best interests, as well as Turkey’s.
"If the Turkish prime minister joins such a flotilla," Dayan said, âwe should make clear beforehand this would be an act of war, and we would not try to take over the ship he was on, but would sink it."Word to the mother in the White House. Thanks jhpigott.
I believe that their military prefers a secular form of gov’t. Of course, that might upset BO.

Since Turkey is a member of NATO and we are not technically allied with Israel by any treaty, would Obama come to Turkey’s aid if asked?
The government didn't call their bluff...the point was made that the government should call their bluff.
Uzi is short for Uziel (a Hebrew first name). The inventor of the UZI machine pistol was Uziel Gal.

Works for me...
I read a report that turkey is massing ships on the shore of Northern Cyprus. Ergodan may prove just how stupid he is.
Time to kick them out.
Read Psalm 83. It could be the headlines of today written 3000 years ago. This prophecy laid out hizbollah, hamas, turkey, jordan, and our position as well. It also tells us how this little adventure will turn out.
Iran is orchestrating the rift in relations between Turkey and Israel.
heh-heh...Well Played Israel.
If the Turks do nothing and bitch away to the UN about Israel threatning war, Israel shrugs; "Who me? He was "Uzi Dayan, former deputy Chief of General Staff"; we didn't authorize that announcement. Sorry 'bout that.. ;-)
On the other hand, it all goes down? Israel announces "We TOLD you dumb bastards what we would do!!!". Why are you crying?!
Either way, Turkey just put themselves in a put up or shut up position.
In the past the United States would mention that they agree with Israel’s stand (challenging blockade an act of war) and that would be the end of it.
Today it’s not so obvious that that would happen if Israel did take that position
68, never been downed in combat, reasons of hurt; right there.
Are their avionics internal, or contracted?
He would, certainly.
I wonder if our Military commanders would on the other hand.
This is an easy way for Israel to get their point across. It serves as a warning and gives them plausible deniability. I doubt this happened in a vacuum.
So is the U.S. and much if not all of NATO would side with Turkey if Israel sinks a turkish ship. Israel would be isolated.
