~LOL~ don’t you read what you write? or have you ever run a company? YES! She has a staff.. who hires the staff in a startup? The person starting the company!!!! The fact is she accomplished something pretty darned impressive... and I “hope” she is able to do the same for the State of California..., I actually am pulling for her to surprise everyone... just as Christie has been a pleasant surprise.

The California economy is on the edge of crashing now.

$20-25 billion budget shortfall.

The Legislature is making NO attempt to fix it.

California bond rating is last in the nation among 50 states, even lower than Louisiana.

State income tax revenue is plunging.

The Calfornia economy could easily crash in the next four years. If there comes a day there is no cash to pay the bills and California has to default or beg creditors to accept less or to hold off on payment, that is a crash.

California voters approve revolutionary "open" primary

Disgruntled California voters have blown up their election system by approving Proposition 14, which tosses out the current political party-based primary system in all but presidential races.

The measure was far ahead in early returns, with about 60 percent of votes in favor and 40 against with more than 12 percent of precincts reported.

Backed strongly by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Proposition 14 called for a new "open" primary, in which all candidates for an office - except those in presidential primaries - appear on a ballot given to voters regardless of party registration.

Under the system - which Washington state has already adopted - the top two vote-getters who emerge from a primary square off in a general election, even if they are from the same political party.

Without knowing the polling, I bet that Whitman will win based solely on the fact that she is a woman. A certain number of liberals will vote for a women merely to disprove the patriarchy.

You claim Poizner is left of Gerry Brown. You are insane or drunk or lying. I’m done with you. You have no credibility. There may be 2000-3000 people in the nation left of Gerry Brown. You are nuts. You are whacked. You are insane. FreeRepublic says no personal attacks. Please don’t take these as attacks. These are nothing but rational observations over your insane opinion that Poizner is left of Gerry Brown.

Go get professional help. Please. Or lay off the drugs.

My point is mute. Look, Whitman didn’t even vote for 28 years. She didn’t study the issues you and I are familiar with. Now she wants to run the eighth largest economy in the world. With what political background does she do that? She has no more political savvy than Arnold IMO. She’s a blank slate with a deep pockets check-book.

She donated to vile Democrats, not just the more moderate brand. Then she signs on with the worst we have, to be his finance chairman. She agreed with him then, but now promises she’s nothing like him.

We’ll have another RINO, and this one can actually run for President. Oh joy. She can screw us for four to eight in the state, then screw us federally for another four to eight.

Damn it to hell. Talk about your stupid party. We’re looking out as far as the eye can see, and there’s nothing but McCain on our horizon.

Why do I even bother to come here and watch folks facilitate this nonsense, thinking they’ve really accomplished something this time.

” Or do you think Jerry Brown is an improvement over Whitman.”

I rate that a tie.

Meg is Arnie’s third term.

Pete Wilson was her handler. All her talking points were the same that they used when they pushed the Austrian on the electorate as a “conservative.” And now with Prop 14 passing, you can kiss conservatism goodbye in California government. Meg and her VC cronies have spent their way into the royal kingdom — a sad day for California, IMO.

BTW, Meg did not start eBay.

Conservative conviction didn’t select John McCain to be our nominee did it. Well, no it didn’t.

Don’t blame me for this mess. John McCain, less than thirty days from the election said, “You have nothing to fear from an Obama administration”, and you blame me for his loss?

Honestly folks, open you eyes.

You can't even spell the person's name correctly, so I don't know how you can claim I don't have credibility. Jerry Brown isn't as left as he used to be. Plus, he wouldn't be able to destroy the GOP.

Whitman wins: very good news. California has just turned a corner for the better. She will win over Brown thankfully and has my support as she tries to do the impossible: delete AB 32 + delete start-up tax + delete “sue your boss” + delete factory tax, etc.

With 14% of vote counted, Meg Whitman’s at $178 per vote.

I believe she came aboard a company already existing.

She hit the door at the perfect time, with an entity like E-Bay being needed to facilitate online purchases and trade.

Was she the only reason why it prospered? Frankly, I think a monkey that had been handling a tin cup prior to joining E-Bay may have actually done about as good a job.

The thing took off because it filled a void, but it wasn’t her brain child.

Correct me if I’m wrong, and I’ll admit it. I am not convinced I’m all that far off base.

Gag me with a pitchfork!

But we should be proud as Republicans. Last time they only spent what $162.50 per vote? ;^)
