First post ever. I would like to suggest that those who get so annoyed at repeat breaking news posts try to chill a bit and remember that there are four time zones in the U.S.. Also people in other countries check in for news.
I am in Alaska and by 6:00 am my time it is already 10:00 on the East coast; so what some Freeper addicts may have seen before is new news to us in Alaska.
So be kind and don't get so annoyed; there are way more important things to get wound up about.
Freeprs are the best for a great dose of humor Thanks for the support!
And repeat columns to responding to repeat columns s =)
It doesn’t bother me if people duplicate. I could care less. Sometimes I miss one and catch another. I wish there was away they could just merge them.
You must have a day with more than 24 hours in it; not everyone has time to peruse every jot and tittle on this site.
I agree. Besides, not all of us can peruse FR at the same time. And posting moves so rapidly around here that a post made at 6 AM will have dropped off the first or 2nd page by 10 AM.
I have found, however, that when somebody cracks down on a 2nd posting, you still can click through to read the article. If you are really interested in reading the comments, or making a comment, click on the link given for thel original posting. But, we should all be kind to 2nd, or 3rd, posters of an article. If we don’t live on the East Coast, that’s often the only time some of us see the post (2nd, or 3rd posting).
That’s why you bump threads instead of re-posting them. Re-posting them means you lose the content inside the existing thread.
Using Latest Articles, it takes me maybe 20-30 minutes to see EVERY thread posted in the past 24 hours. If I see one that I want to come back to later, I simply bttt it. That way, I can find it on my ping list.
No kidding!! Thanks for saying it.
I wonder if posters that complain about repeated post, do they skip over the repeat or open it up over and over again expecting different results?
Insane
That last sentence needs to be a FR mantra.
I agree. If they don’t want to read the same article multiple times, they have an easy solution to that. Just don’t click on the post!
OMG — is that YOU holding that bat on your home page?
That’s kinda clever.
Is this in Breaking News?
Posting tittles will get you banned. They are NSFW.
Shouldn’t this be in Breaking?
:-]
Or at least check the Breaking News sidebar.
The one thing that kills me around here is people find some random blog about an already established story and post it as if it's news.
