IRVING, Texas -- Break out the parkas! The 2014 Super Bowl will be held in New Jersey and it won't be indoors.
NFL owners have voted to put the championship game in the new $1.6 billion Meadowlands stadium that's about to become home to the New York Jets and Giants. It does not have a roof and it will be February.

Super Bowl L at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
Stupid, stupid, stupid...put a retractable roof on the NJ stadium or move the SB to Miami, Tampa, San Diego, etc.
Football is an outdoor sport. On the other hand, beer sales will probably take a severe hit.
I hope it gets snowed out :D
Snow Cone anyone?? Someone got paid off......It’s Jersey after all...Wonder if Barry’s union thugs will get some money out of this??
Here’s hoping that Hell freezes over on game day!
How do you spell stooooooooopud? As Elmer Fud once stated so eloquently, “you’ll be saawy!”
These people whining about the cold make me laugh.
They had better hope for Global Warming or things are going to get very very cold.
There’s going to be a lot of scalping going on if the weather is typical that time of year. Clients of all the big corporate sponsors will be watchiung the game in hospitality tents where it is warm and watching on big screens.
Do we really want them playing football at the Super Bowl?
They should play it in the new arena they are building for the new Los Angeles franchise...
Went across the street at about 3:40, the ticket scanners were not working. It took more than 30 minutes to get through the gates.
My feet were frozen, and I was miserable. Finally got to the seats at about midway first Quarter.
Score zero-zero.
One and one half Quarters later, it was 49-0.
We left before Half Time.
I've been to probably 40 Patriots games.
That was the coolest one ever.
Stupid idea if you are looking for offense. Great idea if you’re looking for potentially great TV.
I love it.
If this game is held during the day and its sunny, it will be quite comfortable; once the sun goes down and those howling Meadowlands winds kick up, ouch!
The fog bowl comes to mind as not so great tv.
Betting won’t be about the points scored during the game, it will be about what the temperature is, and what the weather is going to do!
