Following in the footsteps of the European initiative launched by JCall, a group of Jewish-American leaders on Friday launched an online petition urging an end to Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem and calling for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Called "For the Sake of Zion," the petition is signed by dozens of prominent American rabbis, judges, writers, academics and philanthropists.

I notice that good old "Labor Zionist" Theodore Bikel is one of the instigators.
Ping.
Not my rabbis.
These are the guys that handed out the towels at Auschwitz.
Judenrat.
“These are the guys that handed out the towels at Auschwitz.”
Capos.
Not my rabbi either. I go to a Chabad House and daven with the Lubavitchers. The only orthodoxy in town and the only location you will find me on shabbos.
The Palestinians do not want a state. If they did, they would have had one 20 years ago.
I believe some of the US Jewish leaders are more socialist than Jewish.
Since you stated you are Jewish, please give me your take on this.

Have you seen the newest “Jew Thread” where Xtians are debating “What happens to the soul of a jew upon death
:”

and Xtians wonder why so many Jews are leery of them.
They are playing right into the hands of their enemies. Why are there always in Israel so many who cannot learn these lessons?! Why did only Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah refuse to eat the food from the King’s table, while the rest ate his meat and drank his wine?! So few in Israel even now understand...Praying for the PEACE of Jerusalem — DAVID’S CAPITAL.
Trying to save a little bandwidth?

Yes, and I have avoided the silly, ignorant thing.
Though I must confess why so many Jews are worried about what a false religion says is going to happen to them when they die. Isn't what the Zohar says scary enough?
No. E. Jerusalem is not a settlement.
The Arab world has always rejected any Jewish state. They barely tolerated Jews living in ghettos in their midst, let alone a thriving state of Jews. The birth of the state of Israel is generally referred to as a "Nakba" or tragedy for which there is much mourning in the Arab world. They claim all of Jerusalem, but certainly would deny any Jews living in their own Arab neighborhood (east Jerusalem). The construction they are referring to is simply to ease living conditions for an expanding Jewish population- which they also reject. It has zero affect on them, except to their own nationalistic desires.
Most American Jews (80%) are largely secular and have liberal notions of a negotiated settlement. They have been sold on the notion that somehow the Jews are invaders and have illegally taken land from the Arabs. Many American Jews feel guilt about their own Jewish heritage and legitimate claim to their own land.
