McDonald's restaurants in Sweden have been accused of re-dating old food that should have been thrown out, according to a report on Sveriges Television.
The "Dokument Inifrån" programme discovered the practice by keeping tabs on chicken salads at a McDonalds restaurant. The same salads were sold a day later with a new date stamp. The practice breaks McDonalds’ pledge to only sell fresh food.
"I won't use bad language, but this makes me really, really cross, because this is completely unacceptable," said Lotta Björk, personnel director for McDonald's Sweden.
"When our guests come to us, part of our purpose is to sell warm, tasty food speedily to our guests, and that’s what you should be able to expect as a guest."
The documentary, to be broadcast on Sunday, also shows that burgers are sometimes left on the hot plate longer than the permitted ten minutes.
Frida Berg, press spokeswoman for McDonalds, said she couldn't comment on the findings as she had not seen the programme.
"We naturally wish to address the criticism and we take it very seriously. But we need to wait until we know the basis for the criticism before we comment."

Decades ago, while in grad school, I stopped by McDonalds to buy my only meal of the day. I odered fries, a Big Mac and a coke. As I stood at the counter waiting for my order, I noticed dozens of baskets of uncooked fries stacked against a wall beside the frier, awaiting a quick bath in the cooking oil. It didn’t even register with me until a couple of hours later, when I was vomitting my guts out ... that food place was not actually a sanitary location from which to buy and consume food.

In case you are refering to the clip I liked to above depicting Germans having problems with some rotten Scandinavian fish, I wish to claim we Swedes are somewhat tougher people than our southern neighbors:)

Please allow me to get serious. I do admit there IS a problem.
Europe has let in far too many Muslim immigrants. Many are very seculirized, eat pork, drink alcohol (especially a lot of Iranians do) and don’t even celebrate Ramadan, but Europe is a Christian part of the World and has the right to preserve its cultural heritage.
Small Western countries like the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden are under no obligation to act as the social security offices of the World.
If there is a clan war in Somalia, why don’t we send UN/NATO troops down there and end the silly conflict instead of letting people with no understanding of Western Civilization settle over here?
Europe is no longer ‘Christian’ and the democrat party is working very hard to end the U.S. being a Christian area.
- Even though few Europeans are confessing Christians and church attendance is a joke over here, Christianity is very strongly rooted in our culture.
My country is no exception. Over 70% of the Swedish population are members of Church of Sweden, the largest Lutheran church on Earth and like said, Islam is not gaining ground in Sweden.
Many “Muslims” of Sweden don't wish to have anything to do with the sinister religion that they were born into. What they wish for in life is to find a well paid job and a nice house to live in.
We ought to restrict Muslim immigration to Christian countries (just like Finland and Iceland have been doing for long by the way) but anyhow, there's no point in surrendering to chimeras and paranoia.
Western Civilization is not a lost cause unless we allow it to become so.
