Former Plunge Protection Team Member: Governments Are Going to Tax Everything That Doesn't Move

I previously posted a short profile on Philippa Malmgren and the remarkable list of clients she has gained since leaving government. There is no question that word is out among insiders that she is an up and coming player.

Today, she provided a briefing to financial executives in Australia. Paul Benson was there and provides notes on her latest thinking:

/snip . * More strikes are likely as workers battle to have their incomes keep pace with inflation.

* China is especially afraid of inflation as it hits the poor the most, leading to the potential for civil unrest. However economic growth is also required to maintain a happy citizenry. As such they are hitting the accelerator and brake at the same time. Currently they are trying to contain the property market, but the money will just pop-up somewhere else.

* Government’s around the world, faced with massive debts, will tax everything that doesn’t move – mining and property as examples. The likes of [Austrailia's] Resources Super Tax will become common.

* Corporate bond rates for Shell and Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway, are lower than US government bond rates. This is the new world. Quality corporates with strong cash flows are less risky than governments with on-going deficits.

“Governments Are Going to Tax Everything That Doesn’t Move”

What is left? The King already taxes everything that moves or does not move.

Next the federal government is going to want to get a cut of the property tax you pay on your house.

All money and property rightfully belong to the government, after all.

“As a consequence she expects stagflation, similar to that which occurred in the 70’s although not as extreme.”

I have been saying this for over a year and am sticking to my prediction. If not for blatant, corrupt manipulation between the big banks, the Fed, and the Treasury Dept.
interest rates would already be higher.

Oh they’re going to tax everything all right, whether it moves or not. Between health care and the upcoming cap&trade energy tax and VAT tax, this central government will effectively control the entire economy and will be confiscating most of the proceeds of every aspect of our economic activity.

They won’t be raising personal income tax rates, though. That’s too obvious, and with income tax revenues cratering, not lucrative enough anymore. Income tax rates are also avoidable with under-the-table work, all-cash, and barter arrangements. So they’ll impose taxes that we final consumers CANNOT escape - the energy tax and VAT.

I wonder if this country will ever wake up to the fact that we’re being treated worse by our government now than the original colonies were ever treated by the British crown.

Do people understand that, prior to the Boston Tea Party, the British government had ALREADY repealed virtually all taxation on the colonies, leaving ONLY the tax on tea, and yet our patriot founders STILL were unsatisfied with the taxation? What would they think of the insufferable looting of the citizens by our tyrant government now?

I raise their taxes, only to be told there’s nothing left for me to tax. Imagine!

Today’s citizens would die a cruel death in 1700’s America, waiting for someone to come feed them.

George Harrison was a prophet:

If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street;
If you try to sit, I’ll tax your seat;
If you get too cold, I’ll tax the heat;
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet.

Obama won the State Senate seat in 1996 after being hand-picked by the outgoing incumbent, Alice Palmer. Palmer was an executive board member of the US Peace Council, US affiliate of the World Peace Council, a communist front group founded by Stalin in 1948 and funded by the USSR.

She attended the Peace Council’s 1983 international meeting in communist-ruled Prague, Czechoslovakia. Palmer headed the Black Press Institute. An article the Black Press Institute submitted to the CPUSA newspaper Peoples Daily World, described Palmer in 1986 attending the 27th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and coming away “favorably impressed”.

Obama Espoused Radical Views in College [advocated communist revolution!]
Steve Malzberg - WOR News Talk Radio 710 ^ | February 12, 2010 | Ronald Kessler

Posted on February 12, 2010 7:33:56 PM GMT+09:00 by ETL

Dr. John C. Drew, a grant writing consultant in Laguna Niguel, Calif., tells Newsmax he met Obama in 1980 when Obama was a sophomore at Occidental College in Los Angeles. Drew had just graduated from Occidental and was attending graduate school at Cornell University.

During Christmas break, Drew says he was at Grauman-Boss’ home in Palo Alto when Obama came over with Mohammed Hasan Chandoo, his roommate from Pakistan.

“Barack [Obama] and Hasan showed up at the house in a BMW, and then we went to a restaurant together,” Drew says. “We had a nice meal, and then we came back to the house and smoked cigarettes and drank and argued politics.”

For the next several hours, they discussed Marxism.

“He [Obama] was arguing a straightforward Marxist-Leninist class-struggle point of view, which anticipated that there would be a revolution of the working class, led by revolutionaries, who would overthrow the capitalist system and institute a new socialist government that would redistribute the wealth,” says Drew, who says he himself was then a Marxist.

“The idea was basically that wealthy people were exploiting others,” Drew says. “That this was the secret of their wealth, that they weren’t paying others enough for their work, and they were using and taking advantage of other people. He was convinced that a revolution would take place, and it would be a good thing.”

Drew concluded that Obama thought of himself as “part of an intelligent, radical vanguard that was leading the way towards this revolution and towards this new society.” ...”

Referring to Obama’s quote from “Dreams of My Father” that he associated with Marxist professors, Drew says, “What he’s not saying is that he was in 100 percent total agreement with those Marxist professors. When you understand that, Obama’s later associations and policies make more sense, including why he was taken in by Rev. Wright’s ideology.”

Justified of course by the "windfall" that comes about when they destroy the currency and property prices shoot up.

The manager of my local bank made the same prediction to me last week (after venting about the Obama Administration relieving them of several milllion dollars in administrative assessments and fees in order to redistribute to less healty financial institutuions)
