The origin of modern myths and legends is a side interest of mine, the birther myths among them.
Now I understand why Obama being born in Kenya made it into your belief system, despite it being physically impluasible (requiring around 5 days and five flights, most on propeller planes) and financially impossible (it would have cost about a year of her parents' combined salaries) for Stanley Ann & Obama Sr. to travel there for her to give birth. After all, Obama's Father was from Kenya, so if you are going to make up a myth about Obama being born abroad, what better place than Kenya?
Implausibilty, and even impossiblilty doesn't deter the making of myths if there is a strong emotional reason to believe them, as in this case.
What I don't understand is, of all possible places in Kenya, why make Mombassa the birthplace in your myth? If you look at the map of Kenya, it's on the other end of the country from Obama Sr.'s village, 762 miles away, which would make it a minimum 2 day train ride. Probably longer, since Kenyan trains were very fast in 1961.
I suppose you could argue that there were no hospitals in Obama's village, so they had to travel to a major city. But Nairobi was closer, and more modern.
So why Mombassa? Not only is it completely implausible; I don't see the emotional appeal. Why Mombasssa rather than his father's village? Or why Mombassa rather than Nairobi?
Help me out here, birthers. Why do you reserve this special place for Mombassa in your belief system?
And old zotted MilspecRob was there to throw Parsy a kiss.
They're even running some sort of betting pool, placing bets that Buckeye Texan will probably be the last (troll) to be expelled.
LOL, busted. They are so stupid.
It’s amazing to see what these trolls actually think of JimRob & Free Republic, and then to see how they are allowed free reign here on FR. The last time I saw this level of invective, it wasn’t long before JimRob opened up the bugzapper thread and a ton of tootyfruityrudybots committed freepercide.
The trigger point was a freeperjerk named CeltJewLibertarian who openly accused JimRob of being homosexual. It was only after JimRob joined us in the trenches that he saw how ugly things were. Supposedly, now he wants to let things play out, according to the Admin Moderator. But his tone would change if he just spent some time in the trenches.
Keep up the good work.
I’m doing naught - it’s all these other freepers who are doing Big Things. I’m just along for the ride! Actually trying to take a vacation from the bad news because I am getting to the point of badly fraying nerves.
Now with their trolleftist comments on leftist jerk websites for all the world to see, more will get the boot or ask to leave like MilSpecRob when he was outed. HA HA HA HA.... does the heart good to see leftists get outed.
Take a look at this if you want encouragement, very interesting:

I agree with you about Hawaii covering up more than their roll in the Obama mess. I’ve seen some references (can’t find them at the moment - I did try) to a flood of immigration coming in through Hawaii using the methods Hawaii permits when a person wants to obtain a birth certificate.
It might be interesting to look at the growth of population in Hawaii from year to year and compare it to the growth in other states. Then it would be interesting to see how many people moved there from another state in the U.S. (if those figures were tracked) and compare those figures. The U.S. census figures for Hawaii every ten years would be at least something one could find, though by themselves wouldn’t be too useful.
Given the nature of the government there, it is not too much of a stretch to think that a group of people may have made a pretty penny running an operation that allowed people to circumvent the normal immigration procedures. This is all speculation of course, but I will try to find the references to the immigration racket in Hawaii and post it if I am successful.
Yeah, Parsey who is a royal pain in the arse.
LorenC is an attorney, the kind who would badger a rape victim on the witness stand or defend a non-citizen communist squatting in the WH.
Yeah, please do post whatever you come up with - that would definitely be interesting.
okay-—so one person obtained a ‘certificate of hawaiian birth” in the early 1900s in Hawaii, before it was a state, under fraudulent circumstances, so Hawaii is now a U.S. state of official liars who create false documents on demand?
that is really weak. try again.
In 1960 tuition at the University of Hawaii was $85 per semester. per SEMESTER, not per semester-hour. Also, no out-of-state tuition differentila.
I was there. I paid it, I know.
If that’s the case, you’d think the Dunhams would have had their daughter stay in Hawaii to go to college and raise the baby at home.
Keep in mind that Chiyome Fukino has full statutory authority to give out any information contained on a birth record through HRS 338-18(d) ... and that a COLB, if genuine, is considered self-authenticating, prima facie evidence in court. In her July 2009 statement, the only document she needed to cite was the original birth certificate, since a COLB, if genuine, is an abstract of that same document. Fukino did not do this ... and instead said she saw vital records (not a birth certificate) that supposably verify Obama was born in Hawaii. There’s no need to cite any other vital record if the original birth certificate is genuine, complete and signed. She is either citing affadavits, modern birth-record applications ... maybe even the DNC nomination form for Obama ... none of which is considered prima facie evidence ... and could be subject to fraud, especially when they aren’t identified or presented for inspection. It doesn’t mean Obama’s affadavits are inherently false, but there’s no assurance that they are true either. Either way, we know his alleged COLB does not prove he was born in Hawaii.
Yes, I post at Politijab. What's your point?
And did you click through to the link I posted there? It's to a lengthy post here at FR, about why Birtherism is an embarrassment to conservatism.
You do realize I joined FR in 2006? And in what way am I "not even pretending to be conservative"? You haven't identified anything to indicate that I'm two-faced, or that I'm trying to hide who I am.
If I was trying to hide who I am, I'd be posting under a pseudonym. Like, say, "Red Steel."
LorenC - OUTED!!!!!!!!
Oh yes, and my secret scheme to hide my identity by posting under my real name was so ingenious. I'm flabbergasted that Red Steel figured it out. Next thing I know, y'all will have figured out that I'm the same Loren who writes this blog and who wrote this editorial. And I will again be in awe of your investigative abilities to discover the obvious.
Aww, my feewings are hurt!
It's full of leftist trolls and anti-conservatives like you who have trolled here at FR.
why Birtherism is an embarrassment to conservatism.
There is no embarrassment and your points are illogical. Many of your statements are without support and you are not upholding Conservatism:
From your linked Barf diatribe :
Because Birtherism is a blight on and an embarassment to American conservatism. Birtherism is to the Right what 9/11 Trutherism is to the Left:
"Birthers" or "Birthism" is a perjoritive - but no biggie with me After-Barfer; there are no honest comparison with 9/11 truthers. You are being ignorant on scale that is off the charts.
You - an irrational, logical fallacy-ridden, politically-motivated, universally-derided conspiracy theory.
If we measured for irrationality and faulty logic your lefist drivel wins hands down. It is universally derided as a conspiracy theory from the leftist media and the Obama bots.
You- When reporters want shorthand for conspiracy-minded nutty conservatives, they cite Birthers.
So what and who cares...you apparently do. You think the socialist media tells you the truth? So you care about the opinions of Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann, - why do you care?
You - When liberals want to smear Republican candidates as unhinged, they accuse them of being Birthers.
You - Birtherism is to Constitutional Law what Holocaust denial is to 20th century history, what creationism is to science, and what homeopathy is to medicine; denialist claptrap wrapped with a layer of perceived inconsistencies, imagined conspiracies, and outright lies.
LoL! You are full of you know what. You should see a pyschiatrist to figure out your problem with spouting hyperbole and outright exaggerations.
You - Birtherism is an endless fount of fallacy, illogic, and unattainable standards of proof. After a blogger first fabricated the rumor that Obama was born in Kenya and not Hawaii, conspiracy theorists such as yourself demanded to see a birth certificate.
You already have covered that trying to uphold the intent and meaning of the Constitution is " illogical" Mr. Redundant.
And You'll have to included your cherished leftist media who also fabricated Obama was born in Kenya too. You are illogically selective in what you want to believe in.
When Obamas campaign published the COLB online for anyone to see, conspiracy theorists such as yourself moved the goalpost further, fell back on the testimony of fake, lying experts and accused it of being forged, and asked that it be personally inspected.
LOL! You have to be the biggest idiot if you really think that thing Obama posted online is a real COLB. That thing you think is real has been proven a fake loon-bot.
You again - When FactCheck sent a couple of staff members to handle and photograph the document, conspiracy theorists such as yourself moved the goalpost further and accused FactCheck of being in on the conspiracy, and asked for external evidence of a Hawaiian birth.
Were those two clowns document experts? Who are those non-factcheckers allied with? That would be the Annenberg Foundation who have been taken over by leftists, and who hired the Marxist Bill Ayers and Barack Obama at one time. Hawaii has refused to say that Obama COLB is a genuine document.
You again - When contemporary birth announcements were found in the Honolulu newspapers, conspiracy theorists such as yourself moved the goalpost further and accused the Obama family of having been engaged in conspiratorial efforts to cover up a Kenyan birth for the last 50 years,
Ummm...birth announcements in newspapers are not evidence to where a person was born. Did you see where it said Obama was born in that Hawaiian birth news blurb? Answer, no you did not. It is no conspiracy that Obama has lied his ass off all his life and you think he could not be born in Kenya when their is so much supporting evidence that says otherwise.
and asked for the state of Hawaii to confirm his birth.
Confirmed? What we have confirmed is Hawaii has been deceptive and lying from the outset. Why you don't ask Obama for confirmation from him to open up his records to confirm what his supporters say is true. Doing otherwise from what we know is blatantly stupid.
Its a neverending game of creating new standards of proof, new conspiratorial relationships, and new reasons for denying a truth that you refuse to accept. These are the tools of denialists, and conservatism does not need to be riddled with or associated with denialists.
When someone is a pathological liar as Obama, questioning him on everything is correct and proper. Overlooking documented evidence that says Obama and his supporters are lying are the tools of leftists and Alinsky. You think you are a conservative? You are a Bull Moose progressive liberal and a disingenuous one.
There are hundreds of scholarships and grants available to racial minorities. If Obama got good grades, he most certainly would have qualified for them:
http://www.finaid.org/otheraid/minority.phtml
There you go again, trying to avoid my point, but instead you just made a fool of yourself because private schools are much more expensive than state schools.
So? They're only more expensive for those who pay their own way. Recipients of financial aid don't.
WHERE DID THE MONEY COME FROM?
It's called financial aid.
Besides, what does any of this have to do with the topic at hand, or Obama's eligibility?
