A question for birthers: why Mombassa?

The origin of modern myths and legends is a side interest of mine, the birther myths among them.

Now I understand why Obama being born in Kenya made it into your belief system, despite it being physically impluasible (requiring around 5 days and five flights, most on propeller planes) and financially impossible (it would have cost about a year of her parents' combined salaries) for Stanley Ann & Obama Sr. to travel there for her to give birth. After all, Obama's Father was from Kenya, so if you are going to make up a myth about Obama being born abroad, what better place than Kenya?

Implausibilty, and even impossiblilty doesn't deter the making of myths if there is a strong emotional reason to believe them, as in this case.

What I don't understand is, of all possible places in Kenya, why make Mombassa the birthplace in your myth? If you look at the map of Kenya, it's on the other end of the country from Obama Sr.'s village, 762 miles away, which would make it a minimum 2 day train ride. Probably longer, since Kenyan trains were very fast in 1961.

I suppose you could argue that there were no hospitals in Obama's village, so they had to travel to a major city. But Nairobi was closer, and more modern.

So why Mombassa? Not only is it completely implausible; I don't see the emotional appeal. Why Mombasssa rather than his father's village? Or why Mombassa rather than Nairobi?

Help me out here, birthers. Why do you reserve this special place for Mombassa in your belief system?

More then just a non-binding resolution, SR511 defined John McCain’s eligibility based on being born of US Parents [NOTE the plural] but outside the country. Therefore the only alternative based on THEIR wording is ‘born in country’. They did not change the requirement of two (2) US parents.

U.S. law at the time of Obama's birth didn't require both parents to be U.S. citizens. In the case of a U.S.C. mother foreign father, at that time there was a minimum residency requirement which his mother appears to meet. The only question I had was that it required 5 years after the 14th birthday, and I don't think Mom made it that long before Obama was born.

You are confusing Citizenship with Natural Born Citizen. Even though all of the COLB posted on the web have been proven fake (wrong address and issued number sequence).

But assuming they are not, what has been shown on the web, no way proves he is a Natural Born Citizen as defined by the Constitution.

She wasn’t of age (had to be over 19 by law) at the time and the father is not listed on any document shown. If the father had duel citizenship (this is a distinct possibility), Obama doesn’t qualify to be President.

But there are host of other questions, did he use foreign student aid in college? What nationality was listed on his passport? Why does he have a CT SNN Number? He claimed he wasn’t a US citizen in Indonesia, the list goes on and on...

But I will shut up if you can show me conclusive proof of the hospital, doctor and who his parents were on any official document.

You dont need to come up with complext stories about how it could not have hapened in Mombassa- or anyplace else- just show us the birth certificate.

Or ANY evidence of any of his life. School transcripts, passport, college thesis (or anyone who remembers him from college) where did he get money to go to college...

It was not considered an official Hawaiian document before BO became president. They did not recognize this paper for verifying status. Only the long form was proof positive. The rules were changed after he became president and we all watched it happen.

How’s this for an answer to your stupid question...

As I’m sure you know, many confirmed FAKE birth certificates have been floating around since day 1 of this issue, INCLUDING Obama’s COLB he put up on his web site.

However, much of the information obtained from the Mombasa certificate lines up with other verifiable facts SUCH AS the name of the doctor (attending physician) and where/when he was practicing at the time.

We now know more about the Kenyan doctor who signed that birth certificate than we do about Obama himself.

Quite simply, Mombasa is the most credible piece of evidence we have so far... including a foot print that could easily be verified or debunked.
If you think that certificate is forged, why would someone include the footprint, knowing it would be the easiest way of debunking it?
