Convicted Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is asking for donations to help retire legal obligations and penalties incurred during his obstruction of justice trial. He is making this request from his new 1 million dollar home he moved into shortly after leaving prison.
The link includes a Paypal button which accepts donations as small as 1 cent. Be advised the transaction charges the Kwame account 30 cents.

So if all 300,000 or so members of FR happened to wander over there and donate $ .01 each (WHY DIDN’T ANYONE EVER MAKE A CENT SIGN KEY FOR A COMPUTER KEYBOARD?!) then it will cost him $90,000???
(If my math is right, I’m not strong in that area.)
Okay. I’m in. I can afford a penny to help a soul in need. ;-)

Some of the donations made to ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick will be used to pay the $1 million in restitution that he owes the city, his spokesman said."

Wish I had a Mastercard w/ Monica Conyers' name on it.

No, it will be around 90,000 pennies — 900 bucks (actually $870 or so because they get the penny)

Even without going the ‘pay-pal’ route, you can always send him a regular check for one nickle.
It will cost him far more than that to process the checks.

(WHY DIDNT ANYONE EVER MAKE A CENT SIGN KEY FOR A COMPUTER KEYBOARD?!) I think they thought the Cent sign was going out of use, because of inflation. On old typewriter keyboards, it was above the 6 key. They've replaced it with another symbol that people hardly ever use: ^

But it will cost you 44 cents to send the check, and he can always not cash it.
